Life situation has changed

idea posted by Dipti Mehta Project Manager, IBM

Once our life situation has changed. Perhaps one got married or had a baby, and the salary and benefits no longer support one's life needs. Hence one needs to move on to better opportunities to support their family. This would be the top most reason according to me...

Not all personnel view money as the guiding factor for staying on. There are so many other factors - sense of value to the organization, workplace ambience, the opportunity to acquire additional qualifications (even in-house if need be) and the involvement in other activities not connected to the core profile. Many a time employees leave because they do not feel a sense of belonging and the responsibility accrues up the hierarchy.

I agree .. Other factors are career growth and better pay package which few of them already pointed out here. Also few of them have habits of changing their jobs every 1-2 hrs, may be to climb up very fast in the ladder.

99% people leave managers not companies due to problems with managers

At each and every moment the torturing from managers and boss creates a mental pressure. Each and every human being is having some pressure set point and when the pressure reaches above that then it causes a kind of explosion in one’s mind which leads him to search another job.

The difference of opinion with the boss is acceptable and which is very common every where. But when the contributions made to the company's growth is not recognized by the boss it will be a great agony and under such circumstances people will leave the mangers/bosses to have better prospects. Thanks for the referral Mr.Manoj Kumar.

The major reason, why an individual leaves company is the type of rapport that he/she shares with their immediate managers they are reporting to.

Opportunity cost is not at par with competitive cost

idea posted by Alind Saxena Managerial (Ex.), CSIR-CRRI

Ms Dipti

Thanks for invitation.

Life situation has changed- it may be a factor but can not be establisahed as a cause.

Moreover over a period of time the person has gained professionalism, earned experience, and shared his knowledge and applied effort on executiion - than in such situations his current value is not at par with competetive offers and more to this there is a lingering gloomy hope of financial or administrative uplift. Such features generate dis-satisfaction , psychological un-balance approach in life and provoke to search a new place to work.

They did not reveal all the information related to thier jobs

idea posted by Tanima First Medical Services Pvt. Ltd.
Some time Manager did not reveal all the information to his employees. By the time when they know the reality or they are unable to find the job relevant to their skills. By the time it became tough to work in that situation. Employees might not feel job satisfaction. So they decided to leave thier prevoius employer.

Money is definitely the strongest motivator. However if a person has attained certain amount of financial security in life ( or the exceptional cases of passion for life and interest)then yes money might not be important.

WORK ENVIRONMENT NOT CONDUCIVE TO CONTINUE

idea posted by Manoj Pande Corporate Advisor

One of the main reasons for a person leaving current employer is that the work environment is not fulfilling your happiness requirement This happens as environment is not conducive to growth – may be intellectual, professional, financial or general satisfaction growth. It may happen due to autocratic attitude of managers, unwillingness to listen to a point given by juniors, various company policies, frustration caused by competitiveness of peers, hostile juniors and so on.

But complete blame can not be put on the organizational aspects.  For some employee,   his or her personal growth may take precedence over organizational growth or the employee may him self not be fit to be a part of that organization or he is unwilling to accept ethos, customs and culture of the organization leading to unhappiness.
