Participants in Growth

Please give your list of preferred topics (maximum five) in order of your preference in this idea below. Kindly also refer this to all your contact on Too-step. We got two days for the selection as I want to start sending out the invitees to the PIG community by Sunday afternoon at-least.

This a tentative initiative to start a community on too-step. The vision is to bring to fore socially relevant issues like Corruption, electoral reforms, etc.

The five topics to be put forward in the community has not yet been finalized and thus this ideate to find five major topics that concern the members of too-step. Kindly note that the comments with extreme political, religious and other sectarianist slant will not be discussed.

The idea is too discuss issues of social relevance in a honest yet dignified manner. Kindly note that the ideate with its issues including the name for the same  (Participants in growth) is tentative and will be finalized only after due discussion inn the forum - before floating the community.  

I think considering that the community is planned, we can add topics relating to environmental issues as a topic.

Corruption has Many branches ----

of Currency ,Money, asset -Gold, land any materials with value . So Banking and Trade is part.

Election system - No secret, ballet voting - changes in voting system -no single day - fortnight time to cast vote and should be officially published. Buying of votes is the area needs solutions.

Govt offices where people approaches for the needs - make Govt machinery Robotic. Live human robots.special status to officials may lead to misuse of authority.

Reform In the Working of Ministries could be drive to check corruption and road to development.

India need s owe stand module should not imitate foreign policies.

First of all I would like thank Mr. Vinoy for taking this initiative, Mr. Murty for his unstinted support for such moves, Miss Shameena for her proactiveness in this and all other participants here. Priorities of the Govt. needs a change. Something is taking place for the last 65yrs. and we cant deny it. But, this something being happened is not reaching the needy. So, the Govt. has to relook at its priorities. The five top most priorities (in my opinion) 1. Rural Development - 80% of India's population living in Rural Areas. 80% of development is confined to 20% of urban India. The consequences are evident, I dont need to discuss them here. No proper medical facilities, No proper power supply, No proper drinking water facilities, No proper education facilities, No hygienic conditions and no opportunities for them. This scenario need to change. 2. Participatory democracy - The participation of people in the present model of democracy is confined to electing their representatives for different forums, after that they have any saying in the administration. Their representatives making mockery of this system and riding their own bosses. This scenario need to be changed and people shall be given the opportunity in the governance and have the right to recall their representatives if found misusing their mandate. 3. Equal Opportunities to each one and all - In the name of social justice, the people who are less in proportionate (in number) being cornered and opportunities being denied for them. Caste and community based reservations have to be lifted forthwith to provide equal opportunities to each one and all. 4. Rewrite the Constitution - Almost every concept of the present constitution was borrowed from one country or the other. It is the time for us to have our own constitution that suits the aspirations of the people of this age and the future generations. 5. Corruption - Custodians are claiming ownership and dictating terms to the public. Corruption is rampant in every activity in this country. Political leaders who are expected to remain as a role-model and lead the country are failing time and again and becoming a negative role-model for the people. Corruption at the highest level has to be tackled first that sends the positive signal to wipe out the corruption from the land.

We as a nation has made tremendous growth in the last 2 decades due to the economic reforms and IT revolution. It is time to Take reforms to the agricultural sector and interiors. These sections have not yet benifited by the reforms. If this situation is not sorted out, we will have the above sections lagging behind and will affect the economic and social growth of the country. It would be ideal to add these topic as one of those topics to be debated in PIG through the ideas, ideate, comments and posts. Kindly consider the same. Thanks Vinoy for the initiative.

There are many remote villages in India who are not able to enjoy the basic needs of every person like Water, Electricity, Toilet etc. I believe these should also be considered as basic needs apart from food, cloth and shelter. Without these three points we can't even think of growth and development, so now it's time to think global and not to act local. In the coming 25 yrs INDIA will surely become a power and concern for all countries. As a major hub in world , INDIA will soon see itself in a tremendous growth with these inputs.

though India as a country has made vast economic progress there is in balance in the growth. The progress is mainly confined to cities and to some extend semi urban areas. There is still a vast majority of India living below the poverty line, there are farmers who are unable to meet both the ends. There are places without proper drinking water, and medical facility. Unemployment, under employment, education, health care, social security measures and child care are some of the issues that needs greater attention.

In these past few years the media or in more precise sense the Visual Media, the television news channels have set their price tag for the coverage of non-important issues for few bucks and they totally ignore their responsibility as a esteem public awareness source. The Media is "For Sale" now. If they take the responsibility to abide by the truth and inform the common public each single details then I think majority of Indian Public will be directed towards a good and true direction, I feel that a huge mass of our Indian fellows are unaware and love to live in misconceptions ..............

Educational Reforms is another critical issue. (a) Compulsory and free education to all upto +2 level (b) free education to girls upto PG level (c)eradication of illiteracy within a specified time frame (d)Hindi, English and mother tongue are necessary and compulsory languages (e)bring back detention system (f) adapting proper syllabus and teaching methodology (f)arresting commercialization of education (g) equal opportunity to one and all in education.

The results of India in Olympics or other international is pathetic. Remember that countries like Germany and Russia invested much of their efforts in Sports. It signifies the strength of a state without violence. Being a country of such big on land space, population and diversity in the race roots of the populations, we have a sham for the results. Maybe while debating on the same ideas may come up and when we grow as a community we can approaches the authorities. Other topic I had in mind has already been added. I support the debate on agricultural reforms and environment issues wholeheartedly. So also Murthy Sirs proposal of Educational reforms.
