It is very much required especially for freshers since they do not have the required practical experience when they enter their respective fields.

I don't know who started this idea, but yes it's a very serious concern. I was managing the competency development for my IOU and following are the concerns we use to foresee in the Professional Education Programme in our industry
- Technical helpdesk is picking up in our industry, which means all the remote monitoring / managing activities are pushed back to India.
- The BPO culture is picking up like a wildfire
- So what are the impacts
- Freshers with a very little training are capable enough to handle these kind of low impact jobs, but get paid well.
- I feel, most of the mission critical activities are perfomed by the ones who outsource
- Which means we will soon endup doing only low impact jobs & lack the skills required to handle the mission critical activities.
- We also leave the kids to wrong assumpitions like "we are betterthan our elders; we are paid well"
- There are so many things like this to be added, so
I feel that a structured Professional Education Programme is the need of the hour, this can be devised in Sales, Technology, Management or any discipline for that matter. But, it is every individuals' / specialists' responsibility to contribute to the wellness of our future society.
