We can control costs by eating home-made food. First of all, it is healthy, cooked with care & love (in most of the cases), and saves time and money of eating out....(money includes transportation cost and the restaurant bill) It increases involvement with the family members as well and reduces the probability to get ill We can also bring home-made food for lunch in the office :) |

That's the safest way to eat ... especially if you are watching out for every intakes like the calories, fats, etc.
Today most of the working class people don't carry their lunch to their offices most of them go out for lunch and this is taking more from their pocket they imagine, and yes arijita is right here have home made food most of the time and one can control cost...

By changing to car pooling, using public conveyance etc. one can reduce considerably on travelling costs. |

Yes i agree to this format where simply one person who is travelling with his car to work is just waste of fuel and if the same car has like 4 people in it, it will really help in less fuel consumption and will also help in causing less global warming, infact people should also do bike pooling where there are more number of two wheelers that are seen these days...

Car pooling is definitely a good measure of cost saving. As an another idea, I propose to resolve not to use any vehicle for any work at a distance of 2 kms. I follow this practice religiously. For any work within 2 kms from home, I go on walking (except in emergencies). This is also good for health. |

True car and bike pooling are very good methods to follow, and you will have a companion while commuting, rather than those lone frustrating rides in heavy traffic - serves two purposes.
|
|
You are either at home or at office. Plan your life style in a way that people / you can use phone either at office or at home. After all it can give your rides a worth for its money. |

Ensure that unecessary lights are not left on. Switch off all electrical appliances not in use. When necessary use manual appliances instead of electrical eg. tools, cookers, etc. |

I
agree devi mam with your opinion.
However this small things
are ignored by many of us but result in huge amount of energy wastage and big
electricity bills.
But
by taking several factors into account one can reduce electricity consumption
such as - >
Computers use up to 70%
less electricity when you put them in sleep mode. So don’t use screen savers.
You
can also use the power saving kits which are available which can reduce the
power consumption till 20-25%.
Make
minimum use of bulbs or tube lights during daytime. And use natural light.
Switch
off lights and fans when you are out of room or house. Reduce high wattage
bulbs where less light is needed.
