I think there should be a dedicated lane for emergency services which can be used by Ambulances and fire brigades which will make one reach faster to the accident zone and also it will be free from traffic and this will help in this regard, where even ambulances can match the pizza fellow. |

In Mumbai under MUTP, dedicated lanes for BEST-city-buses are being provided. The same can be used by emergency services too, and avoid manual delays in life saving services.
You are right Malika, We should have such services... though we started 108 service really helping to victims.....
Dear Malika, are you sure that is practically possible In India and In Indian roads where there is no space to walk...

i feel the nation needs to be taken through a massive education drive to cause a real movement for saving lives on the roads etc may we have your inputs please. |

Please change the mindset of everybody to follow the traffic rules.
Thanks for the referral. However, since I know a little about India, I will add my two cents.
I have not been to many parts of India but sure traffic is terribly slow on some main roads. The time spent waiting in a vehicle may get you to your destination faster on foot.
It is all about traffic education. However, with a country densely populated with many roads, the gov't may not be able to have a separate roads/street just for ambulances(road accidents, patients, fire, emergencies, etc).
In our country you have to know the rules and traffic laws if you will be using the roads whether driving, riding or walking. This education has to be taught from primary school age. In the cases of ambulance, all users on the roads know that once they hear the siren, you are required to step in the corner and allow the ambulance to make it way through. Even if you are at a junction and the stop light says go, you have to stay put and allow the ambulance, police vehicles, fire ambulance to get priority. The vehicle carrying the President followed by police and security vehicles are also given this priority...since from a distance away you hear the siren.
It is all about alertness, using the road with caution and discretion.
A point to note for those drivers(myself inclusive) who love to drive with air condition and have their windows tightly up, becareful and use your rear view and window mirrors well, since it is unlikely you will hear the sound of the siren when it is at a distant. Recently our Junior Minister of Education was killed in an accident by a speeding ambulance all because the driver had the AC on and did not hear the sound of the siren in addition to not being alert.
Funny ambulances are supposed to take the patient to the hospital to get well, in this case the ambulance snuffed out the life of a strong and intelligent woman.

If it is so, then i am sorry to say that your business wont be a success.
Joke a part - It is not possible for the ambulance to reach to the point of accident because its a four wheeler and also because of the heavy traffic where as pizza can be delivered in a right time because their mode of transport is two wheeler. So, expecting ambulance in two wheeler can be bit impossible though in some countries it is in practice, but in India it is a challenging issue.

OOOH !! IT HURTS !!!!! dear chandra, let me first thank you for participating. sir, i know it is a challenge and hence the request to help with ideas. also, wouldn't mind two wheeled ambulances if they were to serve the purpose - but here am looking for ways to get the ambulances to there destinations faster in order to save lives etc. warm regards

If Ambulance Service organizations have multiple locations in a city, the lag time can be reduced. Or better still have the pizza outlets run their own Ambulance Service!!!!

In proportion to the overall progress we are loosing human values. We becoming insensitive to others pains, becoming more self centric. I've seen many of the vehicle (owner) drivers even least bothered to give a way to ambulance/emergency vehicle. This is how a well educated, sophisticated, highly professionalized people behave. Criticising others is the only thing all this class of people do. Sorry, but most of us fall in this category only. Unless we restore the values, no system will work. |

a manager is concerned with what is happening. the leader is concerned with what is happening when "nothing" is happening. |
