With more and more resources out there, security will be the number one concern for IT. Whether you're in a recession or not, no company wants to be on the News because their data was breached. So data security will also gain funding even during the downturn. |

Security absolutely .. whether you are going virtually or physical hardware or cloud doesnt matter. there always is and will be a great threat to data. and specially now with advanced tools available through open source, security for some org's is top agenda...
I m agree.....bcoz in this recession period everybody is trying to keep ahead from thier competitors..for that most of the businesses do illegal practices to harm others..whether through data theft or invading systems through illegal networks.

As Up-front investment in virtualization tends to be fairly low and can deliver quick and substantial returns, virtualization will continue to be popular as it reduces hardware cost... So I think its one among the recession proof technologies. |

Virtualisation results in not having a Physical IT Hardware Infrastructure . This believes in sharing of servers , for various customer accounts , without having a physical server everywhere .
This is very crucial in this global economic downturn situation , as this can reduce costs , through using Virtual hardware .

I think Cloud Computing will continue to expand and perhaps even accelerate due to the downturn. Many companies will be moving to the cloud for the applications and services most often sought by business types. Definitely Cloud computing is recession proof and will continue to get funding even when money is tight. |

Absolutely correct Mr.Gamauf, companies are thinking that Google (cloud computing) is not a save place to invest. Uploading data on the goggle server can be a risk for the companies. But do really belive that way ? Can google sell or steal the data from one company and give it to other company ? Question remains unanswered. Because we have no idea.
What do you think guys, is google watching over your datas to steal it from you?
it is surprising how many (comapanies and individuals) still shy away from cloud computing. i think this is because media created a hype against google and the likes. as if 'big brother was watching you'. my usual way of convincing them: before somebody finds my data in the cloud he finds my computer next to or on my (physical) desk.

Network management tools are going to do well out of the recession for the simple reason that they save money. In the good times computer networks get flabby. If you have a large IT staff then chances are they've done a favour or two and connected up hardware you don't know about. There's also the problem of staff who know too much about technology and are using your network with their own hardware. A regular network scan can discover all of these things and allow you to take part in some trimming to get the network lean and fit again. This can also have security benefits. Chances are that any unauthorised kit on your network isn't locked down. It's not just hardware you need to be keeping an eye on. Bandwidth expenditure is a case in point. A few people downloading from a peer to peer site can suck up data like no-one's business and needs to be stopped. |

Web Conferencing is a Recession Proof Technology and it safes lot of employee travel cost. I will support Cloud computing as well. but it is still not a matured technology as per the security point of view. |

People are now used to gizmos that they cannot live without it. Further commuincation has advanced a lot with mobile technology advancement. Communication itself is recession proof, so more embedded technologies will get advanced, more it will help in price reduction. |

I kinda support embedded technolgies because they are almost ubiquitous and new products just keep getting developed and maintained and redesigned and ported and tested.
So i think if you see work wise there is hardly any saturation point.

We have learnt a lot of things till now and will continue to learn until dead. There is always something to improve upon, knowledge to accumulate and so on. For an entrepreneur to succeed he need to have more base, more knowledge, more tools to define... |
Yes i agree with shankar here, its just that people always want which is new, its like mystery for them which they want to unveil and lay hands on and check out what it is, its just temporary but then most of people buy new products for this reason... |
New Solar-Powered Airport Hangar Opens In California It’s not surprising these days to hear of buildings drawing their power from photovoltaics, but for some reason I still get a kick (or perhaps some hope) everytime something new embraces renewable... |
