t is some time I'm thinking If should take this step. It is one of the path I'm deciding to step into.
With my experience in Sales and CRM I'm tryng to evaluate if I could take my next big career step and become a "fully loaded" CRM Consultant.

My search on being involved in a SAP or Siebel CRM project (before paying the 12.000 Euro required for the full course) hasn't been succesful so far, would the certification provide more chances?

SAP Consultants are in demand

1) Consultant is a consultant - traveling is part of the deal. If u are CRM Consultant or xyz consultant does not matter, u are where your clients are

2) Looks like you have more inclination towards User Experience, so check out the Portal world.. Recently, there is lot of traction in portals.

3) SAP CRM or Siebel CRM - Known or Unknown- SAP CRM is atleast known, Only god knows what is coming in Siebel CRM

4) Training and certification - My personal experience is that nothing can replace work experience - training is means to help it and not get to it. If you know the basics of CRM, then u need to learn the tool and will help u to get certified.

In my experience, Seibel is the leader in big business. But if you're interested in a more people-focussed role, have you considered some of the smaller CRMs on the market, such as Microsoft CRM, Salesforce, Pivotal, etc? This may give you more opportunity to work end-to-end on projects. The latest release of the Microsoft product in particular is very good - and it's the fastest-growing CRM on the market according to Gartner Group.

Siebel Certification

Having knowing SAP CRM and Siebel CRM, I definitely recommend to consider latter one. The Oracle is doing even a more great staff: the Oracle Fussion CRM Application, which will inherits all best practices of Siebel CRM.

The SAP CRM is actually not a solid product, but mix of ABAP, VB and JS (so far I could see it). I have never seen working SAP CRM solution in production - never heard any positive feedback from my SAP former-colleagues and SAP & Siebel customers.
