Recently, Wipro Infotech, the domestic arm of Wipro Technologies, dissolved a Rs 100 crore contact with Satyam because of its failure of delivery on time.

The tender was issued in 2009 and a new vendor was chosen for the 10-year IT contract. The IT deal was awarded to erstwhile Satyam Computer Services in August 2006, but they were not able to fulfil some criteria, prompting the bank to change its vendor.

So users, how do you think SATYAM can compete with other big companies now.

Regain market trust

idea posted by Smita Dalvi Sales/BD Manager, Hewlett-Packard

At this time, the first thing SATYAM needs to do is to regain the market trust. For this, it has to improve its process and be true to their words of issues like delivery on time. If it can successfully do this, then slowly, it can regain its competitive strength and market trust.

Retain Competencies. It was observed over period of almost a year now that Satyam resources were available in the open market for hiring. Be it entry Level resource or a solution architect or proj mgr were avlbl at a short call of vacancy.

They have to try and retain quality professionals which will indeed result in gaining market confidence to thrive on their way forward.

Atleast they may tie up with their new owners 'Mahindra's' and share few competencies with them as well.

After  such a big scandal , it is difficult to regain the market ( both in trust and market share) . As Smita ji mentioned , they will have to be extra cautious while committing deadlines and perform in the same .Also i think they should go for cheap pricing initially to prove themselves and slowly and gradually grow from there on .
