Hi Santosh.. Please give a small description of what you exactly are focusing .. A title is self explanatory but still description helps. Anyways, social marketing is really difficult because you need a lot of expertise and understanding about the market , media and the public you want to focus. If the balace s establishes once. Youcan go long way.

Yes Puravi if the social marketing is done the way you suggested it will go a long way but one has to do a lot of research on each topic in order to be successful.

It is not difficult Mr.Santosh but the only thing is require more and more innovation, marketing execution, more awareness. Overall people are know about social marketing, but yet people are not very much aware in detail about social marketing - media. So is is easy and it will grow slowly. Advertisers are doing very much ad through online but they are not getting feedback as per expectation..... Thanks for referal

Social Marketing requires skills at building relationships and that means more than following a step-by-step process. This is what makes it challenging. Also, although there are great metrics, how do you measure a relationship in process? Relationships take time to grow. They require water and nutrients. It can be seasons before they flourish and blossom.

By actively engaging in the blogosphere and other ecosystems where people are active participants in those user-driven communities, the goal would be to try and attract traffic, fans and ultimately create a community around a given business or brand.

Hi Santosh, Social Media is part of marketing and requires a set of skill no doubt. So like for any job if one has the skill and passion one can move on ahead.

Just as an example am sharing the below:

In Social Media we really cannot restrict any of our clients / customers from connecting with us all of 24/7. It would not be feasible to connect in real time every-time; but what is feasible is reducing the time lag. Add to this, Facebook for instance requires constant, consistent fresh feed / information for your community members who are on Facebook Fan / Business Pages. Facebook is about building relationships that eventually take us gently towards our marketing and business objectives.

Having said this what one requires : This requires a person who understands your brand philosophy, brand personality and can translate this into action and behavior onto the Facebook Pages. This also requires person who understand consumer mindset, usage and attitude not only towards your brand but also towards the category and towards the online net and Facebook as well. In addition to this it requires that the same person understands mass communication and direct marketing along with the knowledge of the online medium as well.

With so much of bombardment in the communication business it takes some time to get used to the new culture of social marketing, when there are so many different kind of products available in the market, association with each and every kind of it is not possible throughout, however, with influx of innovative, expressive and communicative new media, I sincerely feel that indepth foresight is required to ensure the depth of communication in the whole concept of social marketing. One should be upgraded with complete knowledge on the same.

Social media has become an integral part of every business strategy now a days. This is because of one obvious reason that organisations find their target audience there. I have observed many brands across the verticals as how they are using social media in number of ways. From market research, new product launch to after sales support. On the other side customers are also getting benefited. Because they can get info about their brands, special offers, issues resolved etc. right at their favourite social networking site. And how this is happening through interactions. Companies focusing on interactions with their existing and prospective customer to listen to them. So I believe interaction is the key.

Thanks Purvi. Yes it is marketing with a difference. Marketing because you are trying to sell your idea. Difference because the idea that you are selling to is a person known to you or is aware about you. So he is not a complete stranger so to say. But the moment you try to sell your idea to that person he becomes your customer and he acts accordingly. But there is a certain amount of complecency in you which prevents you from going for the final kill. This should be avoided and corrective measures taken accordingly. This differs from person to person and situation to situation. You have to be innovative and at the same time be friendly and be a good listener. You have to use all your marketing skills so to say.
