may be the cost factor also help in import the goods bcoz if the availablity is more in particular county the goods can be imported only logistical cost is now cheaper compared to earlier days

Need to import is also about the right timing, to make the best of the void in the supply chain. The product may be the same, but it is the way it is engineered & value it brings in, that enables quick sales! So its not always about new products, but also about quality delivered - it may be a short term prospect fueling a long term requirement.

I think the quality of imported goods had a direct impact on the level of sales in the domestic market.
