I am working on an essay for my blog on what it really feels like being self employed after leaving a good
position in a company. I am seeking others' experiences or opinions so that
it's a more fleshed-out article. The idea is to discuss the emotional and
personal toll which a challenge like this entails. What has it been like for you? / what do you think it would be like for a new entrepreneur? Are your friends and family supportive or critical?/ would they be supportive? When things don’t seem as great as they thought they would be. What has been your emotional outlook, and how to you maintain, or try to reach, a positive one? / How can people help themselves to be positive when things don’t seem as great as they thought they would be? What sacrifices have you had to make already? /what are the major sacrifices they may have to make? What have you been doing to progress your company, and how effective do you feel it has been?/ what should they do? Do u get plagued by fear or insecurity? What advice would you have for people planning to leave their jobs and start off on their own? I am sure each one of us has an opinion that can help new entrepreneurs/or those planning to leave their jobs make a tough decision |

First i would like to appreciate you and on your decision, taking this type of decision. People should have guts to leave a well job on good position and starting a business; it is not an easy way; people are there to critics for any sot of decision we take. Yes, there will be lot of challenges and problem on starting stage of any business, once the business is establish every things goes well. The major sacrifices is already is done by quitting the job, but it need to ensure that you never take up a new assignment in future, so that your image and prospects remain un change, and unhurt
I think it takes huge courage to leave a job (being in a good position) and start a business on your own. No doubt it gives self satisfaction and excitement but only when everything goes well and that happen rarely. what most of people face in the beginning is failure and then they start regretting their decision.. oh my god I was earning so much and now I am yearning for a single penny, what will happen to my family, how will I pay my loan, what will people say about my decision etc. I think you can get excitement and self satisfaction while you are working for someone else. it is a matter of how you look at It. I would say I m an "Employed Entrepreneur" :)
Business is again a mindset, It could be in any form of conviction, as such business nowdays are done in thought process, as to what is the spending capacity and capabilities one has. It goes with lot of agreement and disagreement. so Economics need to be understood irrespective of people you come across. There is nothing wrong in leaving a job and do something on your own, good or bad you on your own deal with it. I like the excitement behind doing things on your own.

The shift in values comes off hands those who claim calculated are in turmoil. With passage of considerable time at one place, the supporting argument starts within one self that of maturity.ability,viability.The "MAV" effect over comes one's feeling to look within and the time for a change arrives. In such a situation,my advice to those thinking for a change over is maintain cool.have enough money to support family, keep ready your proposals, network with financiers and start with positive mind set.

Many new entrepreneurs fail because they are not clear on which industry they should step into. So have a proper planning before stating it. Should be very clear on what they are going to do and what will be the impact. Today everything changes over night. So start you business which will have a long run.... |

You can never be too sure about the what you would be doing once to move on to being an entrepreneur. Your first idea will almost always certainly be a non-starter
No one is going to fund your start-up but maybe your family
You need money to sustain your home for 2years. You need money to sustain your business Capex + Working Cap requirements for the first six months. If you have these, your family will be supportive
You need to be prepared to face strong mood swings. You'll often doubt your own competence and decisions in life
All your friends who promise you that they'll board the 'entrepreneur ship' once you set sail on course wont do so.
Getting the business started is the most difficult part of it all. Once you start off transactions, you'll find ways to keep it rolling
If you have recently bought an apartment on HL you can forget about being an entrepreneur. In fact housing loans are the biggest killers of the entrepreneurial instinct left in many a dreamers.
..... theres so much to it that I can write book on this!
