this actually true . before studying a course one rarely what all he has to study and even he does he doesn't know this is his field of interest or not .
For eg. after +2 while opting for engineering courses 1 has no idea what his interest are , like you have never studied civil eng. subjects so you cant guess that you will like or not.
u also put it in a right way
i believe when its time to take decision all are not confident about what they decide, so they seek advices from others and some time a wrong advice may mis lead us. one must go for what is really right for them.so according to me analyzing onself is a best way to understand what is right for u........

Ideas posted by Jenifer and Sailaja can suffice in this respect. Indian students face a major problem in proper counseling. Awareness of skill-utilization in is not a trend here. If someone possesses talent he/she should know in which field it should be employed best in order to gain satisfaction or success. Knowledgeable mentorship is what we need before and after we enroll. |

I am 200% in favour of this idea.
I know, it's because of wrong assesment. I was always interested in computers, but till 12th we did not have any computer courses.
Being familiar with physics and maths I thought electronics engineering is the best for me. LOL
but later realized, my salvation is in computers...and today I am in software fields and find 80% software engineers from electronics field working in Softwares.LOL
Howazz that?

Before we choose a course at a college, we have to be aware of our strenghts and weakness along with the hidden talents. If these things are clear to us, we can choose the right course that suits our capability, provided you have the burning desire to pursue that course no matter what!

yes, today students r in a position to find out their inner talents n interests they are failing in putting out their ideas outside parents n the society should bear the responsibility of the students career n intrests.

we all dream for good colleges good branches, but due to lack of confidence we listen to others ,get confused and choose wrong path. for being successful one must have faith in his /her views and dreams. |

Once students complete +12 people from all sides give their opinion on each courses. The student is almost lost what he wants to do. Nobody asks what he wants to study. By listening to all this stories the student will come to a decision which will be wrong. So he will not be able to give his best in the college. So stop listening to stories and decide what you want to do......

But how do he know the right way if he don't listen to stories,,,
I view that Discussion is a must and decision should be left open
very right

This is the case with most of the students. Parents force their children to do a specific course because it has more value and the student will be no way related to that course. He might be poor at maths and he will be force to join engineering where he will find it difficult to graduate. Since he has no interest he will not learn anything and one he graduates he will not be able to get jobs...... |

right to some extent

People today are more interested in monetary benefits than their true calling . Hence, at times they know what they would like to do but due to social pressure to be financially sound & earn big time students go for Engineering or MBA which later on they are unable to handle or just feel unsatisfied even if they succeed

WRONG OR MISLEADING GUIDANCE EITHER BY PARENTS OR RELATIVES OR CONTACTS LEAD TO SELECTION OF WRONG COURSES BY STUDENTS. |

so right!!
|
|
In simple words when student don't have any option for admission then they choose the wrong courses at colleges. or we can say that they don't have any knowledge about the courses scope etc.

THIS CASE HAPPENS TO EVERY STUDENT WHO ARE HAVING LOW SELF CONFIDENCE OR IS UNDER PRESSURE TO MEET THEIR PARENT'S NEEDS.SINCE THEY ARE NOT AWARE OF THEIR OWN STRENGTHS THEY CONSULT WITH OTHER PEOPLE AND CHOOSE A WRONG DECISION ULTIMATELY DIVERGE FROM THEIR ORIGINAL DECISION.

In reality it is parents who force students to take their dream or trend, so parents to be given counseling. so students can take their own loved path. |

Sony is facing the biggest data breach and even the bank account details of the people is out. the consequences can be severe and a lot damage has been done. We trust a company for our confidential information and here we are, left wihtout a clue... |
Well.. I differ here to your point Swati. There is academic qualification of course but some things come naturally to people and they are a bigger success when they do it instead of following what they ahve studied. |
So many Idians go abroad to study and make a fortune. All of them are excited when they are leaving and once they are there they want to come back. They become victims of fake universities (TVU), they have to wear insulting things (radio tags) ,... |
