Losing weight is not an easy proposition and it may be painful or painless depending on the perception of the individual.
The top ten tips to lose weight --

1. Exercise - This is very important. Focus on cardiovascular exercises - walking, running, jogging, cycling, swimming. Try to log in at least 40 min. four times a week.

2. Diet - Focus on a simple and nutritious diet. Being vegetarian is helpful. Try to minimize fatty products.

3. Drink plenty of water. This helps to hydrate the body and helps to maintain a good circulatory system.

4. Have adequate rest. It is recommended to have 8 hrs. of sleep every day. If not possible, try not to have less than 6 hrs. sleep every day.

5. Eat balanced meals during the whole day. Do not skip breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner. Have small multiple eating sessions rather than single binge sessions.

6. Focus on a positive outlook. Have a positive outlook to life and be cheerful and optimistic. There are always problems in hand....

7. Build various hobbies apart from work. This will help to stimulate the brain and focus on the mind skills.

8. Have a healthy work life balance and focus on your relationships. Nurture relationships and spend some time with kids. Young children have a refreshing approach to life that is minimized by the time they become adults....

9. Build your knowledge constantly and focus on your weight loss with perseverance, determination, discipline and focus. Improve your skills on the science related to the human body and the influence of various types of foods on the human body.

10. Pursue an active life style that will help you as you grow older over a period of time.

These ten tips, if followed conscientiously should help you to stay out of problems related to weight gain.....

Colour therapy - select your food

Look at the nature. The large sized animals are vegetarian as well as green(grass) colour eaters. The red colour eaters are small in size. If you can select your food reducing green colour items and select more red, white, and violet colours, the body size can be reduced. Tips to reduce weight, drink glass of water before food, consume more fiber content food. Eat only 75% of your capacity. Consume at least 3 litters of water every day. warm up your body early morning and breath lot of fresh air.

Dear Asmita, human body is constructed to have solid food with liquid. If you eat only liquid food the enzymes producing in your body for digestion system can damage your abdomen. This can further lead for illness.

You don't want to feel deprived or hungry; drastically cutting calories will only slow down your metabolism by driving your system into famine mode. Don't count calories; just eyeball your portions. Let's say you hope to reduce your daily caloric intake from about 2,500 to 2,000. Focus on reducing your portion sizes by about 20%. Within a matter of a couple of weeks, you will be adjusted to the new serving sizes and they will seem normal.

Fill your stomach with food that's light on your system. Overeating will very rarely happen if your stomach is already half full with food that is low on calories.

Keep yourself away from foods ! If you are in a situation where you can keep snacking , then the chances of adding kilos are very high. Avoid such situations.

As you have suggested drink plenty of water , but i have got one small doubt i.e 60% of our body weight is of water, and when i reduce my water intake  i reduce 2-4 kilos. pl clarify.

avoid juice tea...do brisk walk minimum of 25 mins at speed of 9 k per hour...and have black coffe with no sugar before the walk.....

the standard that we are talking about is the western one. Weight should not be an issue as long as other parameters are right. assuming that weight is a issue then i would recommend, tradional Indian food, minor exercises that will bring about muscle streching the actual diet depends on the geographic location and occupation of the patient. It is convenient to cook liquid food. If you only eat liquid food or drink one meal a day, you’ll reduce 10 pounds during 8 months. Liquid food should be diversification in order to avoid the lack of nutrition.
