Climate Change

idea posted by Padmaja Baskar Product Development Manager, ONGC

Climate change has a huge impact on the flora and fauna of the planet. Take the example of the polar bear. As arctic regions melt and shrink the polar bear has less territory and prey, and thus teeters on the brink of endangerment. The warming of the global climate will also result in intense weather events, like hurricanes and tornadoes, which will become increasingly more devastating.

Climate change is a problem we can all band together to fix.

I will support this idea Ms.Padmaja, because there is a drastic change in our climatic conditions which everybody could realize it. The reasons are emanated from climate change/global warming. As a result the monsoon is changing and the heat waves give problems to all.

Clear Cutting

idea posted by Surabhi Sinha Project Manager, Ispat Inds

Clear cutting is a logging technique used to remove almost all trees in an area. Clear cutting drastically reduces wildlife habitat and can be a contributing factor in species endangerment. Clear cutting can also cause issues with erosion, which is especially problematic on sloped surfaces. Many developing countries have no plans for replanting after clear cutting.

So reduce cutting trees.....

Rain water harvesting is a good step it will recharge the water table , it may help the enviorment to go green, plantation will help the reduce pollution,Green house building will help save man made energy and thus minimise the use of coal or gas or diseal. all this will increase /manufacture green.avoid use of polytheneto save enviorment from pollution.

SOME STATE GOVTS HAD MADE RAIN WATER HARVESTING  MANDATORY IN THEIR NORMS,IT;S A GOOD STEP.use of solar energy for cooking and lightingwill also save enviorment.

The drinkable water are a very less in the world. Pure Water is in very short. The whole world is full of water, but not drinkable. And there is no feasible solution till date to purify the salty ocean water to drinkable water. Many area, town, city, state, country in the world are facing the shortage of the drinkable water!

So think before you waste any water from today onwards.

DEAR PRATIK, YOU ARE RIGHT THAT ONE SHOULD CONSERVE WATER.BUT IN ALL WE CAN SAY SAVE ENERGY, KEPP PLANTATION ON FOR CLEAN AND FRESH AIR , DON'T WASTE ENERGY TO REDUCE POLLUTION.MANY OTHER THINGS ARE THERE.

E- Waste ( Electronics Waste)

idea posted by Sampanna Shastry Deputy Manager- Marketing & Sales, Arani Power Systems Ltd

I feel the Most emerging Environmental Concern is E waste or IT Waste... With growth in It Sector the Electronics Waste has Drastically increased and Pollutants like Phosphorous, Sulfur and other Ingredients are raising in Environment which if not addressed properly will create big Problem for growth of Electronics industries....

The present processes and practices which breed environmental degradation cannot be changed overnight to environmental friendly processes and technologies and unless practical & economically feasible alternatives are found, the existing practices will be difficult to change and this will take huge & relentless effort and this seems to be a great challenge in the present challenging times ... lets get creative and introspect our compelling causes for particular action and behaviour !

spreading awareness...

idea posted by Naveen Dhyani Civil Engineer-Highway Roadway, PWD,Uttarakhand

well lots and lots of ideas are there to save the environment but all ideas need public/community participation. and to ensure the public/community participation it is required to make people aware of the positive or negative influence on environment, due to their acts and activities. so i believe spreading awareness among people is a must tool in protecting the environment.

Adding to this, promoting renewable energy and educating people to alter their energy consuming methods by just switching over to renewable energy in place of non renewable... wherever they can.....

It 'll definitely gonna make a huge change..
