Always put your signature on the signature panel of your card as soon as you receive it. Although this is one of the terms and conditions of a card's use set by the associations, this may also help prevent its misuse in case it falls into the hands of someone else. |

All banks that issue credit/debit cards gives you guidelines and other instructions both at the time of issue and also from time to time. I think if these instructions are followed correctly and promptly one can prevent misuse of one's credit/debit cards.

Introduce Unique Biometric Identity (10 finger prints, iris, facial, palm vein, DNA, etc.) to protect the uniqueness of the card and prevent misuse. Do not allow cash transactions to prevent fraud from taking place and getting away with it. Instead if only card to card transaction is made mandatory, then, any wrong action can easily be traced through an audit trail and reversed at any time. |

Maximum of cards nowadays are coming with photo on it ,It,s always better go for with one although I have seen that maximum of retailers hardly look at cards before swiping it, and signature verification is almost nil but in case of photo person who finds it will always be in fear of getting caught more easily.

Thanks Esha for inviting me to participate; well, definitely you are right that signature panel should be signed but there are frauds who can copy your signature and and not giving photocopy also is a very good idea at the same time using it on secure sites for on line transaction is another idea but at the same time these are measures when card is with you, in case it is stolen and we have got the lost card protection , so an information to call center in time saves us from all troubles. So always subscribe for lost card protection , and whether subscribed or not but immediately inform call center once you even have suspicion of loosing card. Would save you From trouble. |
