Current Inflation

idea posted by Sheetal Jadhav Sales/BD Manager, Future Group

I think it has to do with the current inflation, and its not the first time that we are seeing Inflation go out of control, monetory policies are not being checked properly and Indian government and its various sectors I mean to say its various ministries and departments are unable to keep check on many things which has resulted in food inflation, fuel price hikes and to negate this inflation the RBI is raising interest rates which will hamper people in India like anything, when the scenario is like this how will one get confidence about Indian economy and I think this is killing confidence among Indian investors to invest in India.

I tend to agree with you but the risk involved is much lesser than the gains in long run and on regular basis.

I think it is the inflation as well as the corruption scandals that rocks very large industrial houses or organizations. Anubhav foundations which went bankrupt more than a decade ago, was responsible for the liquidation of the savings of very many elderly investors well known to me. Similarly the Satyam scandal, then latest is the 3G scam where the TATAs and Reliance are embroiled. The security in depositing substantial funds in a stable ambience is not easily afforded. Moreso when the spot market or share/equity market today is so volatile. Imagine the Sensex fluctuating by more than 1000 points pre and post budget. Where does the average investor find solace?

Sheetal I agree with your point of view but at the same time unearthing of huge scams on a daily basis has actually taken a toll on investors.

Corruption is killing the confidence of Indian investors. Not only Indian investors as well as FIIs are also unlikely to invest in Indian stock market. A recent survey which is conducted in 8 cities reveals that corruption has come out as an confidence killer among investors. “Even as Indian investors appear less worried about the global economy, domestic concerns have resurfaced. Worries over inflation are still dominant, but corruption has emerged as a major issue,” said Arun Jethmalani, managing director, ValueNotes. “This has kept investors’ confidence down and is impacting fresh investments,” he added. So it's clear that corruption is the most worrying factor among Indian investors

THE RETURN ON INVESTMENTS

idea posted by NATTERAJA R. ARIKRISHNAN GM-Projects, Bentec Electricals & Electronics Pvt. Ltd

Ms.Sheetal, the inflation may be one of the factors and it is everywhere in the world. In India the investors lose confidence because of uncertain market conditions like highly volatile raw material prices without any controls, high interest rates which eats the profits to a greater extent, erratic demand and supply positions, logistic problems, uncontrolled fuel prices which increase the transportation costs, cut throat competition which makes the sustainability problems for the business, labor problems, certain problems in getting things done from the govt which supports some group of business houses, and due to the reasons cited the investors hesitate to fund the projects. Thanks for the referral

Besides the above, in India there are problems relating to the regulatory regime which call for stringent compliance and hence this hesitation for the investors

The Government do not have will to bring about changes that can install confidence in the people as a whole.

Today 90% are Trader and 10% Investor

idea posted by Manmath Patil Marketing executive

Today main intention of people is to make money in a very short time investment so day by day they become a trader because these people find more easiest way to make money in a very short period of time i.e. Trading into Intraday._________________________________________________________ About the killing confidence then 10% investor are making losses because of a fluctuation in market.___________________________   Before some duration we known long term investment means more then 3 years time frame but in case of share market long term means 1year and also for trader its only 3months and these three months are now converted into Positional trader i.i. investment for 2-3days so because of these changes investor are going to loss their money. Ex:- Before three-four years NSE index use to move only 50-70 points max but it used to be very much move but now if you see it is normal even 150 points also normal take an example of friday situation on 11 feb 2011 it went down by 60 points and then up by 120 points its a very much fluctuation in that only investor going to suffer not a trader because they always touch with the market. Reasons of Investor confidence killing: 1) Trader more than the investor. 2)New new scams coming out. 3)They do not have competitive knowledge like a trader. 4)So much tax involved. 5)The normally accept wrong retrogradations given by fraud people. 6)Without any basis they select stock in case of share market for investment. 7) Not balanced financial Planning.

Corruption-laden face of this country, our leaders not owning responsibility, passing the buck on delays - law taking its own course, etc., and above all inflation and industrial growth rate decelerating are the major factors killing the confidence among Indian investors - one major reason - TRUST DEFICIT!

are the cause for all ills in india - Inflation, unsafe money markets, provocative cost of living, unchecked pric rise etc. are what ails the common man today. In fact the safest way to ensure you dont lose your money today is to keep it in low paying FD's in Public sector banks.

NOTHING. Indian Market is a playground for the FIIs who choose to enter and exit at their whims and fancies and make substantial money on the side. The retail investor gets hit badly
