While having a loyal customer base is critical, it is equally critical for any business enterprise to have an equally loyal employee base. Start measuring employees' passion about work and the work environment by issuing a survey with a few questions about job satisfaction. Surveys using a scale of agreement provide a quantitative measurement that can be combined with open-ended comments to identify opportunities to make employees happy. Employees want to feel that they are contributing and making a difference. Help the employees to see the big picture and how they contribute to a functioning whole. This will also empower employees to make decisions.

Understanding the personality traits will help you as to what motivate the individual.

Helping to plan and guiding to satisfy the individual needs like career, money and recognitions will bind the employee .

Fostering a individual and family relation with the employee and conducting employee  family get together will bind the employee family to the organisation

Employees during course of his employment have to meet several needs including the needs of the customers innorder to give expected job results. Employer shall meet these needs as if it is the need of the organisation. That definitly will bridge the gap between employer and employee. Every human being has got their own needs and they are undobtedy running after them.

The Manager may let know his/her employee that they have a " common goal " - all thrive to achieve that. We bond or we perish.

The manager should build a team with his/her employees. He / she should share with them all successes and failures. Should share their joys and sorrows - may give a 'healing touch' in case of their grief and agony and "empower" them to solve problems.

Confidence in the ability of the employee

the loyalty of the employee is based on the confidence his manager puts in him depending on his abilities, no employee likes a manager who keeps breathing down their necks, telling them do it this way or that way.  The manager should tell the task to be accomplished and leave the methods to the employee.
