Almost in every domain you can find some excellent certification courses.

Java Domain: SCJA, SCJP, SCJD, SCBCD, SCWCD, SCMAD, SCEA by Sun Microsystems

Databases: OCA, OCP by Oracle

OS & Linux: RHCE by RedHat

Software Testing: CSTP, CTM by IIST

Sotware QA: CASQ

Microsoft products and .net framework: MCP, MCTS, MCITP, MCDBA, MCPD, MCTS .net 2.0 & 3.5

Computer H/w & Networking: CCNA, CCDA, CCNP by Cisco

IEEE certifications: CSDA, CSDP, WCET

VLSI & Embedded System is also among the emerging fields, but there is no big brand certification course other than some courses offered by POSIX and the opengroup.

The Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) accreditation captures most of the networking company's certification glory. But the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) might prove more realistic within many organizations.

I support the Cisco courses like CCNP, CCNA & the Cisco's Service provider courses. In today's world of Internet these courses of Cisco & the technology are like LIFE GUARD OF THE INTERNET.

Good question Subhashini.....

The new-generation Microsoft Certified IT Professional credential, or MCITP for short, is likely to become the next big Microsoft certification. Available for a variety of fields of expertise - including database developer, database administrator, enterprise messaging administrator, and server administrator - an MCITP validates a professional's proven job-role capabilities. Candidates must pass several Microsoft exams that track directly to their job role before earning the new designation.

According to your interest and knowledge u can do the certifications. Dont move with the certifications. Make certifications move with u and ur career. Pick if my idea suits u

For Networking ------- CCNA

For System Administration -------- MCSE

If u r interested in programming move with the specific certification

Sun JAVA certifications

SAP Associate/Professionals/Master

etc etc.. Please do on ur interest dont do for the earnings or for the certifications value..

Every where u can find the way.... If there is a will there is a way

PURSUE MCP (MICROSOFT CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL) FIRST ITS REALLY BETTER, THEN THE ABOVE MCSE AND CCNA AS BOTH CONSIST OF TOUGH TOPICS WHEN COMPARED TO MCP. MCP IS THE INITIAL PART OF MCSE, DO NOT GO FOR MCSE AND CCNA CERITIFCATIONS DIRECTLY OTHTERWISE YOU WILL HAVE TO FACE PROBLEM WHEN YOU GO FOR AN INTERVIEW, BECAUSE CERTIFIED PERSONS ARE TREATED DIFFERENTLY IN INTERVIEWS.

it's good idea to have an additional IT

certifications along with academics, because it

is going to be easy is to get into the industry

as well. of course my suggestion for beginners

is that to do an (open source) course like

Linux etc... since the present (market)or

industries are making their computers work with

an open source (every where is available) that

may 80%. OK that's it i want to say so go on

with this. take care have a nice day bey..
