The rule of thumb in creating a succesful online brand is to be interactive. Being interactive means engaging your site visitors with the right graphics, content, etc. The comman sense is to give them what they want.A person who has come to your site looking for a product mannual than make it accesible for him..Dont tell him story about yuor comapny..Just be precise n be effective. Have forms and phone number prominently dispalyed so that they can call if they want more info.

Be freindly Be reachable Be Precise  Thats the mantra!

For online branding the communication should reach ultimate customers, and it should be innovative too. consumer perceprion will not be same for all time it will differ, as per market condition company needs to change its promotional strategy. Recently entered brand 'Nichesuite'made a significant change in it's promotional tools to seel its ecommerce solution. that really attracts customers across globe.

Your domain name will be the name of your ecommerce store and is many a times used for effective online branding strategy. Choose a name that is unique, easy to remember and, if possible, highlights the type of products sold in your ecommerce store. If you have a selling preposition that out-smarts your competitors, you may add a word or two about it in the domain name.

Innovation in branding adds value to the product. Innovation is the real 'Mantra' for ebusiness to survive in the market. Lot of companies are coming up with innovative way to showcase their products. recently a company from UK i.e. "Nichesuite" adopted new way of promoting by adding more value to the core product.

When we think of windows operating system, we are reminded of its logo before everything else. An appealing logo creates a lasting impression in the mind of your consumers and has a global appeal. A meaningful logo is always helpful in online branding.

Subash as you said logo is important, many successful online businesses have used images as their logos to make communication easier since we easily relate with these images and/or logos. Supporting your logo with page specific images can also have an additional effect on visitors. Display your logo at all prominent locations of your site to increase brand recognition.

Classify your customer group specify the multiple channel to approach them for short period of time and analyze the results give ranking to every one and continue with the channel which gave maximum rank and accordingly use the logo to communicate your message in a more efficient way. By this way you don't need to spend extra capital where you don't know the audience responses. So, in online you can provide additional support to your customer than as usual a formality by this your brand will get good audience appeal this what a known as a online branding.

Branding on the web would require targeting your visitor through multiple channels. You should be consistent in terms of your approach, your message and your treatment given to a viewer through all these channels.

Be different -- if everyone is doing the same thing how would one be getting desired result. while keeping all the points mentioned above we should also have a Track of our competitors -WHAT THEY ARE NOT DOING. Innovate such ways, try to reach the audience with such strategies.
