Passwords protect your most sensitive personal, financial and business information. They are the key to accessing membership, financial, and other web sites that you are a member of. All sorts of havoc can occur in your life if some unauthorized person discovers your password.

Don't use easy to guess stuffs..

idea posted by Ankitha Associate/Sr. Associate -(Technical), Eventures

Don't use easily guess passwords like a date of birth, spouse, child's or pet's name. In fact, don't use any word or phrase that even remotely relates to you or your world. You need to use a password which is difficult for anyone to guess but is not so difficult for you to remember.

Don't write your password anywhere.

Do not write your passwords down anywhere. You never know who is checking your drawers or file cabinet when you're not around. Also, do not store your passwords in an electronic filing device like a PDA. That's just as insecure as a piece of paper if you lose the device and someone who is less than honest finds it.

If you have too many passwords to keep track of then consider using a password manager program. There are a lot of them on the market but be careful: some of them contain "adware" which will pop up ads every time you are online. Most of the free password managers contain some degree of adware.

Generally people want to create a password which they remember easily irrespective of its length. And try to copy and pest it while login. This will create trouble, because hackers easily read the clipboard (computer buffer memory where content gets store when we copy) content by creating the background processes which peoples are not aware generally.

FOR SECURING UR PASSWORDS GO THROUGH THSES STEPS

idea posted by Sasanka Sarma Faculty, NIIT

The best way of Secure password are given below:-

1) Create a stong  passoword. i.e. create a password which is long at least that contains minimum 10 characters. It can reduce the chances of password attacks, like brute-force attack.windows Xp supports upto 128 character passwords, allthough the Welcome screen only displays 12 charactes at the password prompt.

2) Create some mix mode passwords that includes uppercase, lowercase, numaric, numaric keypad, symbols & special characters.

3) your password should be unique to others and easily remberable to u but any one just couldnot think about it.

4)Do not  personal information for ur password.

5) Apply password all levels of password in ur device like a machine of windows  Xp u can apply BIOS password ,Syskey password,Normal Password with proper encyption.

6)Use all kind of application & software to encrypt ur password.Use strong encryption algorithm to encrypt ur password.

7)Never give ur passwod to other people.

8) donot use substitude numbers for letters to make words (for example,s0phst1st1cated).Hackers are aware of this trick.

9)Donot use the words that are in the dictionary, including words in foreign languages.Dictionary attack try these words and combination of them.

10) Do not use sample passwords that u see in the security articles and books, even if they exceptionally complex.Do use a password that u can type quickly.

idea posted by Maneesh Barthwal NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DELHI
everybody should keep in mind that he will not copy or paste any imp password, because when we copy it,it save inside server and its easy to hake for haker.so like online banking don't click "always remember for this computer" it will be really dangerous for your account. so you should add your password "one capital char, one digit, one underscore, like "My Date Of Birth is 1986" it should be easy and remember, otherwise it's up to you.
