Dear friends, continuing urbanization poses a major challenge in terms of provision of water supply, but its importance towards the development of stronger and more stable national economics should not be underestimated. Many say that providing water to the rapidly growing population through urban water management is difficult. What are the challenges in implementing urban water management?

Enviroment and health issues

idea posted by Anjali Sinha Construction-Heavy, Sobha Developers

Friend water quality and health are major factors that must be considered in efficient urban water and waste water management. In majority of the urban centers in the developing world, drinking water directly from city systems entails considerables health risks. Even though consumers started having bottled drinking water, the quality of the water leaves much to be desired. So we should see to that the water given or supplied is of good quality.

Water scarcity

idea posted by Anjali Bhatia Construction-Heavy, Sobha Developers

I think water scarcity is one of the major challenge for implementing urban water management. This is because of the large growth in the population and existing sources of water that could be developed cost-effectively have already been developed and allocated to some sector. Waste water produced in urban areas are more, irrespective of whether or not it is made use of. Thus , increasing water scarcity can in one sense be considered as challenge and as an opportunity for encouraging urban areas to collect and treat the waste water properly to come out of this scarcity.

Lack of fund.

Most of the states provide drinking water by itself. The supplied water is inadequate and state faces lack of fund to invest in such sector.
