iIndian market has reached a maturity stage where u have to be efficient in supply chain management,inventory management,distribution,retailing and selling ideas to the customers.Now each of the components is too big to b elaborate here.On logistics side i wud say with the SAP in place, companies r regulating the inventories well.This can b extended till stockist level so that the stortages at the distribitor can be checked.On the retail front onlines purchase and info. of schemes can help because too many companies r approaching them and they tend to forget it.It can b started at the metro first then can b scaled to other places.On the doctors front seamless flow of info. is required as they r too busy these days to attend so many reps..Hence some arrangement like videoconf.,online individualised information from the Ho level and servicing the customers through online mechanism can bring the necessary change in the way of pharma marketing. The field force cant b replaced as we all know but they can act on organising activities like cmcs,vcs,keeping close watch on the customers behaviour and prescription habits.The fedback from them can be utilised to draft a strategy to address doctors at individula level. |

Yes Amit even i too think there are too many reps from different companies, and they will be waiting for the doctor all day and inturn they are less productive, if camps and VC's are arranged then it will do a lot good than sponsoring him for just to prescribe your product, this is a bad habit according to me, if one wants to do better business let the companies do interms of conducting camps elsewhere where not only doctor but also patients are benefitted, and nowadays Doctors are vying for the gifts and sponsoring of money for them from all the companies and not remain to loyal to any of them, and reps can be used to do many things like what you have suggested is a good option for them........
