As you know each and every region has its own unique quality and its unique geography nature and its own weather conditions, so depending upon the regions all over it is not necessary that the same construction technology is applied all over, depending upon the region and based on the available local materials and workers you can create a environment friendly construction with environment friendly materials by which you can save energy and also reduce cost for the structure and give a local flavour to the structure..

Region based techniques gives speedy work with use of locally available material & it is the practical way.
i agree with pradeep here because region based construction not only helps saving energy and all it also throws light on different techniques used in different regions of the country and also gives job oppurtunities to the local workers who are specialized in that art..
According to me a very good idea.....

Cellular lightweight concrete is an air-cured lightweight concrete with flyash as a major ingredient, which can be produced at large project sites just like traditional concrete with same utilising equipment and moulds normally used for traditional concreting. It is especially suitable in India for low-rise load bearing constructions and for partitioning work in multistorey blocks. It has so many benefits like Tremendous weight reduction, High thermal insulation, Substantial material saving, No gravel used, Little cement, Less steel in structure and foundation and finally, it is very easy and fast production. |

Adding to what other users said about CLC,I would also like to mention some other advantages of it beside being environment friendly.
-
Better strength to weight ratio.
-
Reduction of dead load resulting in saving of steel & cement and reduction in foundation size
-
Better Acoustics and thermal insulation (Air conditioning requirement is considerably reduced)
-
Saving in consumption of mortar and Higher Fire Rating
This will definitely help the construction industry to reduce the cost of the building materials as well as being environment friendly.
Fly ash bricks made with proper care and as per IS standard are better than clay bricks in strength and water abosrption (15%).These bricks also require less plaster being machine made (Having more dimensional accuracy ). All of us should be aware that it is mandatory to use flyash bricks within 100 Km periphery of thermal plants. In recent years quality of flyash bricks has improved and its use shall be increased. We engineers should develope confidence among private construction agencies to use these bricks so that efforts for environment freindly construction techniques are fruitful. Govt of india has also started flyash mission for encouragement of use of flyash products. Information is available of ministry of envrironment and forests website. We have used about 400 Lakh bricks in residential project with good results. We recomend it use should be encouraged by one and all.
Hi nand CLC is very good idea but most of them are still using the traditional old construction materials, and are not inclined towards the new environment friendly materials and CLC as such, but i guess now and in near future it will really gain importance.

For me environment friendly materials like bamboo, bagasse, jute, red mud, wheat straw etc.. all of these can be used for ceilings, doors, mats, window frames, walling, finishing and for various other purposes, by doing this you will eliminate use of harmful substances like asbestos and other toxic materials.

agreed with you.
i think going for flyash based products wil result in reduction in pollution . it can be used in filling of embankments in approaches of bridges, used in fly ash bricks , used in concrete also. Also one must go for water harvesting at construction sites where the residual water after washing of conc.mixers and pumps can be reused. preventing use of burnt bricks will reduce the air pollution at the kiln areas .

Open prefab systems, Precasted roofing panels handle elements with rationalised production methods, and it has attracted the attention of housing experts as an important option for lowering the rapidly rising escalation in the costs of material and labour. Building Centers in different regions of India have been instrumental in propagating several of these prefab systems at the grass-root level. So open prefab systems is really gaining importance people... |

The use of Rat Trap bond is economical because this kind of brick work consist fewer brick than the solid brick work of English or Flemish bond. The rat trap brick work forms cavity of about 40 mm which is very much useful in avoiding heat entering into the house. Hence this type of bond is useful for the climate of India.
