Mercury, a hazardous metal used in the flat-panel display screens, is found to be a neurotoxin. The harmful metal is absorbed by the human body through contaminated drinking water. High levels of metallic mercury damages the nervous system and the developing fetus. It is hard to get rid of mercury, once it is released in the environment. |

In this connection Government already expressed that they propose to bring certain rules and regulations to controle such e-wastes.

Researchers have found that improper disposal of e-waste will affect the quality of ground water in the next 10-20 years. According to an estimate, the future generations will find it difficult to obtain clear water supply, due to the improper methods adopted for disposal of electronic waste. In my opinion e-waste will turn out to be an important threat to the environment, if we didn't dispose them with care. |

E waste management is definitely a crucial task going to be faced with an importance matching to global warming.Many thoughts like Recycle &Re use are really appreciated and to be started yesterday.Prevention is better, so i believe we need to think on how to minimise the use of equipments something similar that we can provide one single server and many monitors for a lab or office avoiding many UPS.
Some methods to prevent the habit of changing electronic equipments frequently..etc. Forcing manufactures to make Eco friendly is another way
