I think this is the problem which needs to be addressed very soon and bring some immediate changes in government policies regarding business, at the moment India is difficult for a business to take shape until one is doing business from long time, as the process is too slow and too much of complication in following the procedures to set up a business, one need to run from all the departments in government offices to get things done. Though Government these days is having more IT policies in its kitty, but nothing has been implemented yet, It was said that everything will be going online like applying for license and lot of other things but nothing has happened yet. And here is where most of the entrepreneurship gets affected with so much complex procedures it in a way hinders people to be entrepreneurs in the first place. If things are simplified then Entrepreneurship will get a much needed push in the country. |

My own personal experience and that of some of my friends is that its easier for us Indians to start a business in countries like Thailand, Malasia, Vietnam, UAE and many others than in India itself, provided of course one has the money
Government should go all out to support entrepreneurship by making laws that support and removing laws that hinder risk taking.
Absolutely Government is biggest speed breaker in plateau shape. No doubt India has created some gr8 entrepreneurs in depression period.
But to take normal shop license one has to go number of procedures & paper work, for an Cybercafe one has to take more than 20 licenses & think abt IT Sector!!! & to get dese ppl dont take straight way or rather dey want to bt Government officials makes dem to change d way ?!?!
RED TAPE & BRIBE are the biggest issues(According to me) & i dont think dey (Govt) vil luk in to dis matter coz dey hav sum other gr8 problems to solve.(2 Change d Boards to different Languages instead of promoting self employment)

In India dere r educated unemployed. If d university students with high entrepreneurial potential, gets proper training, dey vil hav best prospects of becoming 'REAL' entrepreneurs. Adaptability is still missing in many Indian Colleges & schools. Still v r taught d same buks as old as 10yrs. Personal Grooming part is missing in Indian Education System. Dese must change coz dis is d stage where v understand everything & after graduating young people must hav a enthusiasm to market themselves & b d part of 'YOUTH' in real sense tat is contributing to d growth of NATION. I heard sumwhr tat ISB charges 20Lacs 4 MBA Programme (Dese Universities can b gud VC). Now i dont think tats gud for any young aspiring poor student. These Private Universities can bring d revolulution if dey keep their personal motives aside! Self Confidence & Creativity are d things & dey cant b taught n e where!! (Plz let m know if sumbody disagrees. I welcome all critics) |

education system is killing creativity, restrict students to four walls of class room or four walls of drawing room.
It is creating more employees not employers.
The inventive and creative skills are not being taken care and these skills r being killed.
With lot of resources at our disposal we require enterpenuers. Education system should produce them.
Yes, Education system is a factor for the new enterprises to come from the young generation. But can we bring in about a big change immediately.
I dont think so, hence there should be student communites or groups who should bring in more entrepreneurship ideas and bring in more competitions to bring in innovative ideas and try to incubate those ideas and make it a reality.
I think that will be a good thing to start with
According to me,to have high growth in entrepreneurship,we must look on education system of india. We are so dependable on theoritical studies, where in abroad they believe in practical studies. To be an entrepreneur,we should have independent mind, should have guts to take challanges, have the desire to know the unknowns. All thats we cant build in one day,for that our educational pattern should be one to responsible.

Rather than good education about the market its necessary to have money to put up even an small enterprise, young entrepreneur beside having good knowledge and risk management ability fear that their plans might fail so how would they repay the loan. With a huge amount of interest they will get burried under the huge loans. So somebody should always be there to share the risk which is not always possible so this feeling is affecting budding entrepreneurs in India. There is need that RBI comes forward to speak to the nationalized banks to make their policies more easy and efficient to help young entrepreneurs and their ideas. |

More financial institutions apart from the government should come up with low interest rate, flexible loan schemes, better support. There are the financial institution that help the new ideology but the their numbers are less. Blue chip financial institution should encourage the youth for starting up there business and provide them with very good amount of loan at low interest rate.

In soceity I saw so many parents saying "study well so that u can get good job" Instead let us say " study well u can do so many things and make good living." meaning impart konwledge u can make better living. |

Hi Madhu, I am into EDP's and incubation of budding entrepreneurs. But what i feel is that though there are good ideas in todays youth, all of them are being killed because of non support by their own family, teachers and peers. So the answer to the above question can be only achieved by a big societal change, where each one of us is responsible and we should be making some worthwhile contributions.
There is our education system which is only churning out graduates who does the backend job of global economy and the more innovative and creative jobs are taken away by the so called developed countries. We cannot blame them for what we are? It is we who has to bring a drastic change in ourselves.
As you have mentioned somewhere else about IIT's, IIM's, I do not believe that they are also contributing too much towards entrepreneurship. There should be universities and academic institutions like MIT in India which brings in more innovation and in turn entrepreneurships and of course more jobs.
So where should we start with ? I think we have to start with our society. Our community involving academicia and govt. should sensitize the community to bring the entrepreneurship in todays youth.
Suraj ji , Good points to note.
We should congratulate veena gupta for starting this debate. The debate should continue.
Basically I feel that enterpenuership should be encouraged.
Enterpenuer should be encouraged whereever he is as he creates, productivity and move the nation.
India is country of more than 100 crores population.and abudant natural resources what we require is managers.
Managers run with brain power. Inthis aspect education plays great role.
As it is acknowledged through out the world our iits and iims are more enterprising. Let us give them proper environment to work and utilise their services. Not only IITs and IIMs likewise any enterpenuer should be given encouragment by government and corporatesand others.
Yeah, Our society is still in the Industrial revolution age where employment was the only option left out for a person from a middle class family.
We have mentioned about BUDDING ENTREPRENEURS, ASPIRING ENTREPRENEURS. Now what i feel is the below mentioned challenges.
1. A Budding Entrepreneur should be not the one who tries to imitate or implement an already successful venture. But there should be more room for innovation and creativity in it. Budding Entrepreneurs with an innovative idea is what our nation wants. For Eg., Now if you approach budding entrepreneurs, most of them have the idea of something that s connected to computers or IT Field. Like social networking site with no USP's attached to it. How can you call them Entrepreneurs. So the first challenge is to identify the budding entrepreneurs.
That challenge can be overcome only with proper grooming and coordination of parents, concerned teachers and peers of that guy/girl.
2. Why people keep themselves away from entrepreneurships? Parents and teachers also discourage students to go for any ventures on their own, because it is risky and involves very concentrated effort without any deviation to make it a successful. Where as a job can fetch u a monthly pay cheque, Entrepreneurship does not promise you that. And also the initial investment part of any business venture add to it. So how to tackle that issue. Governments has to step in and the budding entrepreneurs has to keep themselves away from VC Funds which may only double the effort and in return chances of losing out your organization to an outsider is more.
3. Always the EMPLOYMENT & ENTREPRENEURSHIP should be inculcated from the time of childhood, but that is possible if that concept is in teachers and parents. There should be a heavy campaign to sensitize this issue and make INDIA a forerunner as far as new innovative ventures are concerned.
I think this group who is now involved in this debate, can give a start to challenge this issue and proceed on some concrete steps. Rather than putting the blame on others let us see what we as a group can contribute to this nation.
And Ms. Veena Gupta, Kudos to you for bringing up this debate.

1. Provide infrastructure to entrepreneurs especially the basic three i.e transportation, water, electricity, communication etc (broad band/3G). 2.Processing ease: There should be 1 window for processing, if possible 3.Easy finance & subsidies, if required for long term gains. 4.Systematic & green roll outs of SEZ's, IT parks etc. 5.Special trade & industry promotion related to rural resources. 6.Special financial schemes for budding entrepreneurs with sufficient & immaculate track record of a given period. 7.Training & teaching courses viz a viz SME's, retail etc. 8.More political stability-less intervention, law & order. 9.Uniform tax structure, simpler import-export policies. 10. Education- Industry oriented & practical. 11. Organizing trade events. 12.Policies to promote industries in particular can give competition to China. |

absolutely correct.
Educational curriculum should be enterpriser orientedwhich is happening with IITs, IIMs, where they are creating jobs. Other cirriculams are imparting knowledge.
LET THERE BE MORE INSTITUTIONAL WHERE KONWLEDGE MAKES A MAN MORE ENTERPENURING.

This is the only thing which has created histories.Only self motivation and desire to achieve will grow entrepreneur in India. There are many examples in history which inspire everyone to do something for there country and then for self.

The financial crisis in the West has prompted our finance beaureaucrats and public sector bank heads to pat each other on their backs, saying that their policies (or lack of them?) and prudence (or is it laziness?) have averted such a crisis in India (the private sector bankers are only slightly better on this score). The fact is our laid back banking system needs drastic overhall to become more dynamic in promoting business and entrepreneurship. |

Failing in business and consequently being unable to pay back debts is not a crime and shouldn't be treated as such. When a business fails, it should be easier to apply for bankruptcy and the entire process should not take more than 6 months for a small business, so that the people concerned can start fresh. It will also be good for the banks and financial institutions whose books will be cleaned up faster and the leftover assets will be promptly taken over for constructive uses. |

Government of India/any country must encourage aspiring entrepreneurs by providing necessary technical skills and should provide both financial and technical assistance . |

Hungry for food should not be there...Thats goverment's responsibility to remove poverty..Most of the Indian's are running behind to manage their basic requirements...till they die..In thes kinds of situations no one can become entreprenours... And the educational system......Warrey waw....This current educational system introduced by British, when they were rullung us to make Kumastha's...Clerks!!!!!!!!! Now our educational system is creating technically well equiped, skilled Kumastha's??????????? Education should be technical education & Business education...Education should educate the reality...Practical things...Just simply sitting and reading abour BABAR,AKBAR,ASHOKA????? 1+1 = 2 ???? |

Twigmore is a new app on facebook, a start up which focuses on Travel and friends, i.e., it will recommend traveling to the destinations your friends and their friends have traveled. This is because they bellieve that while most of the travel... |
I second MR.Saket jain here. There is no monopoly in any field if we take the global prospective. |
Budding business owners should go virtual wherever and whenever possible. In a fledgling startup, the last thing you need to worry about is excessive infrastructure or expensive overhead. It’s already a difficult enough task to generate income... |
