As we know advertising is a field of creativity. The more you creative better the advetisment. A successful advertisement should have something unique that people have not seen earlier but they can corelate it.

Just an example of Fevicol advertisement which won few global awards. The advertisment was basically about how people travel in buses in village area where there is scarcity of transportation facility.

This concept was enveloped so well with fevicol add that people loved the advertisement. The concept is normal but it was presented in a creative way that shows some uniqueness.

An element of surprise...

Advertising is no more only about regional sensibilities, getting  information across or only people's psychology(it varies from each person to person)...all these 3 elements are intrinsically heterogeneous thus assuming that that these 3 will bring about successful advertising would be unfair. However a potent combination of these 3 and a very strong element of surprise....(either from regional sensibilities, consumer psyche or information exchange) will definitelt bring desirous results. To identify this element of surprise is the entire ball game...

Advertising is a process of communication to target audience. Target audience comprises of human beings and human behaviour. Preparation of ads demands a lot of research on the psyche of the target group and their behaviour. This helps the agency in preparing advertisements that the consumers can relate to and therefore become successful. Therefore, psychology as a discipline has a tremendous contribution to make in the field of advertising.

Mr. Shastry is right. A good advertisement and that which stays in the mind of the people for a long time. When people feel that advertisement to be really funny,sad,inspiring or educational, they remember it for a long time. To make these type of ads, one needs to know what type of ads will people like.What their mentality, maturity and psychology is. For this lot of research should be done...

Brand and Product category experience

Actually it depends on the consumer's experience with the brand and the product category. This in turn determines which factor makes an impact:

  • If the consumer has not experienced the product category then the relevance of the category in terms of benefits to consumer will be the important factor (example: mobile phones on being launched in India)
  • If the consumer has experienced the product category but the brand is new to that category then the brand's image and positioning will be the important factor (example: Reliance's Mujhme Hai Woh Baat positioning -- that Reliance Mobile had something unique to offer)
  • If the consumer has experienced the product category and the brand then the element of surprise or the reminder about the brand's proposition is important factor (example: Vodafone Zoozoo or Coca Cola being a part of your celebrations and get-togethers)

Chossing the Content scale of Advertising

Advertising for a particular product tantamount to promoting it and conveying the right mission of the company that advertises about it's product is important. There are 4 different types of contents that can deliver the message. 1) the way the product work 2) Role models showing why they prefer this product 3) spokesperso a clebrity showing his liking for the product and 4) significant parallel,where something parallel is shown as a metaphor to drive the point home.

These are the accepted advertising method for creating the contents depending on which one of it will impact more in the advertising by say reducing the Air time and maximising the delivery of the message.

Basically to influence customers minds it is important is presentation of your advertisement in the market through suitable media. Before advertising of a particular producer should think regarding the media through which he/she is going to advertise his/her products. It is important to select suitable media for advertisement because it directly target on target audiences or market or societies etc. Apart from this advertisement should be in Dark colours which attract people immediately and the way you are presenting your ads on various medias like TV Radio, hordings etc.
