Globalization has brought many opportunities with it. As companies are going global so are its employees. Today the employees of a single company work all over the world. Moreover, companies are also hiring global talents for better functioning. Hiring new talents adds to the companies talent pool. A new global employee can contribute in terms of his knowledge & experience thus, overall gain for the company. |

Organizations don't come in different hue and colors to fit into different states in time. There is only standard organization designed by Maslow, Argaires etc;, like a hierarchy, system of rules, impersonality in work etc;, which is called a standard organization charecteristics.
Hiring specialists to man the specialists functions is achieved in the purvey of standard organizational charecteristics.
One place where a country like India can concentrate is develope the r&d base for companies and allocate more resources for education where these institutions can produce more graduates who can man these r&d bases for companies.
Academia should affirm only rational students to graduate, those whose objectives are clearly visible from their actions in the Academic environment. Others should be considered irrational so needing treatment rather than graduation.

Thanks to globalisation ... You are open to the world & the world is open to you. There are immense opportunities in terms of markets, vendors, resources, opportunities. But the organisation will also have to compete across the borders to provide the best solutions & be most competitive |

That is the attitude and the communication that Organisations have to set for their brands / products. There has to be a semblance of settting those standards that would make them a viable global proposition.
It is not only about placing yourself and making yourself available, its about how you position and why? That will decide the fate. Organisations essentially have to braoden their minds and open their purse strings, period!! Good debate Gargi, sorry to be late though!

organizations have either generate courage to face it, learn it and master it else drop out and rest at their seat |

You are right. But it is not only the organisations but the employees also have to be on their toes. Because than your competition is not only with the talent from India only but globally. So face it and prepare yourself for it.

An organization is truly global only when all its activities are regardless of man made discriminatory issues such as national boundaries, race, gender, religion etc. All actions of the organization must be motivated by pure objectivity to increase profitability and enhance their investor status by providing the most optimum return on investment. It is also necessary to evolve, put in place and practice a global professional code of conduct and ethics. If these things are done, there would be no limit fo r the growth potential of the organization. |

I completely agree with each of the aspects of globalisation that you have stated. Each point that you have given can be taken as a KPI if an index of globalisation was to be set up for organisations.

Globalisation is being redefined with the improvements and innovations in technology and the willingness of organisations to explore unchartered territories and inorganic growth mechanisms. More and more organisations are looking at collaborating with multiple foreign and domestic players to maximise efficiencies and revenues. A good example could be the Telecom industry where many players join hands to provide the package of final products and services to the consumer. For instance, the equipment manufacturers, tower operators, and service providers must all join hands and understand the operations of each other to form a truly efficient system - and now more than before these players are a mix of domestic as well as forign organisations. So how should organisatins act? they must have a strategy in place - example a gameplan which must define their immediate and long term goals and a ready SWOT analysis so they can be a part of the 'globalisation.' Also, at every stage of operating, an organisation must dedicate some resources to maximise the leverage on technology. Technology provides many benefits which can support an organisation in getting an extra edge in attaining higher standsrds of performance and delivery. |

Just take it as challenge and move forward, if Europeans and Americans can develop as global leaders, why cann't Indians? |

I was happily going for a walk this morning. I believe life is a beautiful gift and so is the morning and so I go for the morning walk. As I was crossing the road right outside the park I saw this guy who was continuously swearing as his bike had... |
I have gone through so many articles where women are tagged as 'Bossy'.. I do not understand because I do not have any such bad experience. But when I read such artivles I feel a gender bias going in where man can say anything to you but woman... |
Yes, I am saying this because even I fear this. I feel the fear is hyped but the feeling better safe than a victim stops me from planning a trip there... |
