Dear Sir, it all depends on the site location and selection of best raw material. it's always preferred to go for graded aggregates, graded river sand but these days it's difficult to get the best sand, so we need to depend on the available resources or pay higher price. Here the loss of strength can be compensated by using various construction chemicals to improve the strength. the right selection of a super plasticizer for concrete, bonding agents where ever required and admixtures to improve workability can be sourced out, by conducting trials at batching plant to determne and achieve the maximum performance with minimum dosage of chemicals. Interestingly the total cost of construction and waterproofing chemicals doesn't exceed more than 5% of the cost of the project. still many projects are hesitant to use it for better results. |

I do agree Sir, but only good design, execution will not make the structure safe, it may but it will not last for long unless we implement the strict quality check for the raw materials used and for building and further repairs.

According to me and from my knowledge Quality materials is a must it has no substitute, so guys no matter how well a building is designed, it will not last long if the foundation is wrong and faulty, or if the materials used are substandard. For this reason, using only high quality materials is essential for new construction projects, and renovations which help in strengthening the structure..

I think the design, execution and maintenance of the structure should be done as per the codal specificaitons. Once these parameters are met, structure will be safe, but local conditions and constrataints should be properly anlalysed and incorporated in design and construction. |

This is the important factor as such because proper location which is nearly flat and where the soil texture which is good is as important as any other factor because this gives the incredible strength to the structure at the foundation level itself....
