Being in the HR field for many years I have seen many types of employees who easily can be categorised into a bit over enthusiastic ones, who time and again will keep bugging the top management so that they could be in the light all the time, and the one's who perceive every situation objectively and are constructive in their actions, and some are not interested in anything at all than just doing their routine job on a daily basis. |

Right attitude is definitely the starting point. But if the discussion is around the key factors, then the buck doesnt just stop there.. Right attitude needs to be supported by the right personality traits complimentary to the job situation like cautious risk taking for an investor, patience and systematic perseverance for a scientist, dynamic leadership in business or managerial jobs etc and then finally grasp over the key skills required for the job or atleast insightful understanding of the technicality of the job required.
I personally feel in this list of factors, experience is highly over-rated in cases where wisdom of fundamentals is naturally ingrained in the indvidual or wise mentoring is provided.

There are three factors conducive to success at the workplace, perhaps four. 1) Knowledge and Professional Competence- You enter employment because of these two. Ensure that you upgrade both qualitatively on a regular basis 2) Interpersonal Relationships and etiquette- You remain in the job. If you are disputatious, sarcastic or abrasive or the like, then finito. 3) Attitude - to superiors, contemporaries, subordinates all to be comfortable with your consistency and dependability displaying Ethical , value based and principled approach at all times.These ensure you grow. As a finale there is an inexplicable, arcane element of luck that plays its decisive role in the destiny of men. An unforeseen illness, an accident, slip of tongue, a correct or incorrect nod at the correct/incorrect time, assisting someone in difficulty, being from the right school or college etc. etc. all can have a subtle but certain role in your success or failure. |

What i have said is an ideal scenario but reality is a lot different. In todays professional world at least in indian run companies be it in india or abroad, polishing up to your boss is what matters. Talent, hardwork and honesty come second place. One can count the number of companies which are truly professional and reward its employees on the points mentioned by everyone in the debate so far. That sadly is the scene in the rat race so far. |

in my opinion, a person who does his work timely and who maintains a good professional rapport with his colleagues, can easily become a successful and a ful fledged employee.

If we are honest then most of the times we don't need the help from others.If need it , never hesitate for asking something.Don't show your intelligence everywhere with everyone. |

Bfore leaving the off for the day ask yourself that have you done more then yesterday "if yes" then promise your self that tomarrow you will be doing more then today, "if No" then get back to all your pending work and finish it befor tomarrow because if you can keep yor promises to yourself you may get a chance from others and if that is so then people rely on you and become your admirer and you will be successfull even at work because we all know that there is no shortcut of hardwork but we all still want to try! ...........I don now why....perhaps you can guide me better........... |

When management expects successfull output from any emplyee then it has to understand that person responsible for the success should have the authority to achieve the success, from my experience I can state that unless authority is not given the person cant be considered responsible for his/her success or failure. This has a major impact on the interest of that particular employee in his/her job,and if the person is having some authority and is responsible for the success,interest in his/her job automatically develops. Authority and responsibility go hand in hand. |

At workplace,hardwork is not enough.I believe "Smart Work" is the key to success.When i say smartwork,it doesn't mean cheating rather it means doing your job with honesty,knowing your responsibilties,using your authorities in sensible manners but anything you do,you must be smart enough to get that acknowledged and recognized. |

When u work alone with all the diffucility in the begining stage and learn the process and procedures, then after some time some how u will get recogination, and then ur approach will be do the work and when the team size increases, and too much addon's your priority goes down at that time u have to prove urself work in the organisation, and make yourself an ASSET to the Company Not an LIABILITY |

1. Being humble at work is easier said than done .In an age of gaudy good-for-nothing people all around waiting for a slight chance of showing off, practicing humility needs lot of courage and perseverance but its energy can be felt by everyone around and in long run will be appreciated by everyone . 2. Curiosity or an innate desire to learn is the fuel which keeps you on a growth track.Generally it is seen that after a couple of years of experience people transform themselves in I-know -everything types and thats the end of their intellectual growth.Someone who continually upgrades himself stands out of the crowd. |

i ma recently reading a novel"the seven day weekend" by ricardo semler.. which beautifully defines about the environment the organizations provide. this culture n atmosphere makes employees committed towards wrk and motivated too.certain key factors i believe are:
