India''s strength as one of the most enterprising nations with inclusive entrepreneurial drive that includes bottom of the pyramid innovations that drive social economic growth was highlighted during the multilateral discussions at the G20 Young Entrepreneur Summit in Toronto.

G20 nations deliberated over two days on the key challenges facing the development and growth of entrepreneurship in their respective countries and discussed and agreed upon an appropriate coordinated response to these issues. SO, what are the key issues critical to foster youth entrepreneurship in India??

Complex rules, unfavourable market conditions

idea posted by Srinivas suravajhala Asst. Manager.
The conditions in the country are not conducive for an entrepreneur to start up his own. Besides the financial bottle necks as Namrata narrated, the complex rules and procedures and the unfavourable market conditions of the country are other discouraging factors for the youth to start their own. An encouraging environment is yet to be established. The Govt. has to focus on.

What we need is a ONE-WINDOW CLEARANCE, and a congenial environment to compete! Policies of Government are inked to suit bigwigs. Young entrepreneurs will never meet the eligibility criterion. Big corporates in collusion with the politicians, because they fund the political activity, take away the major chunk leaving miniscule portion for the entrepreneurs. Most of the young aspirants are doing sub-contract job work, though they started off as a creative entity! No support from any quarter whatsoever! Banking institutions do not give him overdraft facility, no bank guarantee, keep him in watchful radar to collect the EMI for the initial loan offered, where will be go?

Affordable institutional access to finance

I think this is missing, many youngsters are chucking their jobs at hand and are entering the entrepreneur arena....but getting access to finance is what is detering many enter start on their own. There is too much of gap between entrepreneurs and VC's or the money that needs to pumped in. There is a need for a collaborative platform that integrates key stakeholders and services the needs of entrepreneurs. I think this is one such critical issue which needs to be addressed to foster youth entrepreneurship in India??

I agree that true expertise on finance management is lacking. Finance managers tend evaluate a proposal only from cost comparison basis. Whereas, they should cater for in built cost benefits of some long term advantages and other better conditions of the proposal. Role of a finance manager should be supportive and not obstructive. Our Organisations and Industries lack discipline, puncuality, ethics, planning and time bound scheduling. Quality standards of input materials, which are bought out, often lower the quality of the final products. Although we have progressed a lot, but to become real world leaders, implementation of these factors is a must. Influence of corruption and red tapisims are too well known to mention. Thanks & Regards.

I feel we lack in leadership. No one has been able to drive the youth force ,although lot of young leaders claim to do so. Let a brand image drive it and harness this concealed reservoir.

Initiation of zeal into reality

Many a time we hear seminars / conferences or even workshop for guys interested in entrepreneurship. But, it does keep the chapter closed there . What we need is an INITIATION Camp where the individuals are, virtually inroad to the business. Many, though have the zeal, potential in terms of money , skills, does not have adequate clue of it. I feel a MASS INTIATION CAMP can pull the potential youths very successfully.
