Even as a job-seeker looks at potential jobs, one might still hold out in the hope of getting something better. How long he or she holds out depends on many factors, but when the costs of holding out are higher than can be borne, typically, the job-seeker picks up the best (or only) job available. And according to me this is one such criteria for a job seeker.... |

All job seekers have one criteria in common which is to get the best one and dont mind waiting till he or she can.
Once not in a position to hold on will accept whatever available and unfortunately in long run become job hoppers, which is not good for him or her.
The framework applied by the Nobel laureates helps to explain why job openings are not filled adequately even though there are enough job seekers in the market. The prime criteria for a job seeker in an ideal environment will be to have complete knowledge of the existing job market which meets his competency skill level and other appropriate factors.
This will enable him to apply for a job opening of his choice and he is also able to expect a reasonable response for his application. However, in the real world, there are many factors that impede this ideal activity.
The job openings that are listed generally do not give the complete details of the exact activity required to be done. Many things are assumed and it is expected that the candidate who applies to the job opening already has the assumed skill level and only the listed skill level is tested as per the job description. Additionally, the candidate is not in a position to know where all the openings are available. Hence, he applies to a job opening and if he is selected, he generally hopes to accept it due to various constraints unless he has multiple offers that gives him a choice to select the best optimal option.
Hence, the prime criteria should be to focus on a high level of networking to ensure that the job seeker has an initial access to all the available openings. He should also be simultaneously updating his skills and competencies to match the existing available openings. This implies that he will be able to maximize his probability of getting the correct and matching job role as per his competency and skills (assuming all other factors are unbiased)......
Thanks for the referral, Darshana....
Getting a job which matches your skill & eperience is easy, parallely the companies also looks for the people who is having matching skill or they look for the people who are from similar type of industries.
Reason is companies start getting output from the very first day, no special trainning is required.
But the companies having strong systems they can adopt easily a person from different industries, skill requirement criteria will get changed in this case.
My point of view is the person should go for the best job available, the major benifit is it's the best job other benifit is you will get different exposure, no doubt it may require more hardwork but ultimately it will give you more satisfaction, more growth, more knowledge, more options.

Instead of looking for jobs that carries a good package, job seeker needs to look for jobs that match, exactly or more closely, to his skill / experience or the educational qualification. Match your skill with the criteria that one look for, will certainly, yield a good working environment also. |

For a job seeker priority should be the that matches his skill and knowledge. He will be more comfortable if he would be given chance to work in the field in which he is skilled. He can show his caliber there and can give 100%
i think ones educational qualification, skills, and the job seeking criteria help to fint out a good job suitable for him/her but for the experience, one shuold not try to find a job having heavy and attrective pakeges apart from that he/she grab the oppertunity that a giving by a comany coz there is a lot of unemployes in this globle world looking for job or money.
best & perfect idea Mr.Kaliyamoorthy

Job seeker first of all should have in mind the career goal he or she have and take up such jobs that help them to achieve that goal.

Job seeker should ideally seek a job which provides ample opportunities for career growth where he or she can anchor and grow with the organisation.

Job knowledge and experience is very much required for working in any post. Besides if the person is qualified with little experience & sincere, I am sure he or she can pick up the job and be a successful person. Exceptions are always there. |

I’d say that knowledge, experience & skills are highly important. Without proper knowledge, experience & skills, a person can’t go far in their career and/ or they don’t add much value to the company. As Rosemary stated “exceptions are always there” & there are exceptions to many rules. Only sometimes times there are exceptions to every rule. Sometimes one will out weigh the other, such as a persons’ experience may be stronger than their skills or vice versa.

Hey Darshana. How’re you doing? I am a Job Seeker, if anybody is looking for a talented person for Management Trainee with Marketing as profile in RETAIL SECTOR. Let me know your email Id; will mail you my Resume or HR people can go through my CV on Naukri.com. I want a Job:-Reputed Company, Good Exposure to Every Field, Employee – Employer Relationship, Career Development Programmes, and Correct Ambience to work in & above all a satisfying remuneration. Last but not the least – A Good Boss, who will challenge me, scolds me, motivates me & appreciates me. And also he should share some tips on how to kick some ass in a Meeting & in a Disco. And I can wait for that particular job. Till than I can continue my learning by enhancing my intellect through reading books or writing poems or watching interviews of famous personalities on You Tube. And Search Friction is the Real Case. It happens with me & many of my friends. I have posted my Resume at many Job Sites. Though I have mentioned about my interest in RETAIL SECTOR, but I get calls from other Sectors also. Fresher candidates have no use of such sites. They should just visit the HR office of a firm in which they are interested for a Walk-in Interview to save their crucial time. |
