In fact the generation problem is indicated by the higher (theoretical) qualification of the new generation and the practical experience of the old generation. Problem between new generation and old generation always persists. It is not only with the new genration workforce within any organization, the generation problem lies also within the atmosphere of any family. |

I also agree with this. In the organisation the new generations are more open to new ideas and experimentation than any other previous generation. They are more apt at using technology than the previous generations. the previous generations are basically on the higher post and they have more practical knowledge. These employees believe in the values of "organization" and "obedience" when it comes to their work. so they sometimes against of the new generations ideas and they resist to change. so i think it is not the failure of recruitment process.
Dear Nitin,
It is not the case that the employers don't face any problem with new generation employees. In fact problems do persist sometimes with new generation employees, as they usually try to experiment their newly learnt theoretical formulas treating the processes of old generations as crude methods, while the old generations/ employers by virtue of their practical experience would alrady have abandoned some processes, which are of lesser utility or no utiltiy for the organization in particular.

|
Organizations that follow efficient work force management practices are unlikely to face any problems with ANY generation. It is a matter of Training, Mentoring, and Induction after proper adaptation. It fundamentally depends upon the effectiveness and appropriateness of the tests and reviews involved the recruitment and performance review process. All are not expected to have the same aptitude and attitude. Each profile requires different set of attributes.

Yes. An intelligent staff management should not allow such problems to crop up. New boys certainly need guidance.
|
|
This is a commonn problem that employers come face to face with their newly recruited employees. Mostly if the candidate is from a comparatively well educated background then this problem arises. |

To start with, it is the wrong assessmnt / evaluation at the entry point . Later, lack of learning attitude on the the part of the recruitee.

time is running fast and to cope with it as a task but no alternative.management has to tune with the brain.

The employers don't face any problem i think they know how to deal with the new generation workforce because they are doing this from the old time. Also A Business firm do work only for revenue. So they are focused.

None of the teaching institutes prepare people for the likely jobs they are going to handle. There is hype, high expectation of role, and then their comparison with some of their colleagues from premier institutes. In addition one , two child syndrome at homes pamper them and even a small command from next higher up looks angry....LAzy attitude at leraning...not able to take stress...are LIKELY pointers

Hi All, I have said this time & again when it comes to issues related to employees be it ego clashes, office romance, hiring process etc etc HR/dept heads/PMs( in case of IT industry) guys play a big role here new joinee are always excited about the new job, their knowledge what their college has taught them & want to try it now since they feel this is right place to do it & of course they are right however they should not dis-courage from trying anything new as far as they take permission of the concerned person also they need to be kept grounded, they need to made relaxed. Problems being faced with new joinee need to address with lot of love, patience also & not with bossy tag. If employers face problems with experienced joiner then I blindly blame HR, they should dis-courage job hoppers any candidate of any level should have spent minimum 5yrs with his current company.

I feel that major problem is that others boast too much about their experience and are not able to accept a younger employee at a higher post.

A set of etiquette is important for any person working in the corporate world. Many things may annoy others and many things can stop your promotion, block that appraisal. What should be kept in mind at work place? |
Do you believe the CEOs are paid outrageous salaries? |
Loyalty is better in long term. Though it depends that for whom are you working. Jumping jobs is not a solution for anything. |
