According to me this is the trend that we'll see in 2009 like more than 75% percent of all change management programs fail because of a lack of employee support. In today's economy the organizations will be forced to confront the important roles middle managers play in the success of change efforts. Middle manager's roles will shift from a simple messenger of directives ‘from above’ to creating a positive environment to enable change, accountability and ownership of change initiatives, achieving the full benefits of change and ensuring ROI. |

i agree with the change in the middle managers role but there will be more sharper distinction between Project and Program managment, as many global organizations have managed programs with the same methods used to manage projects, with predictably disappointing results. Programs are not merely “bigger” projects, and program managers aren’t simply professionals who are one step up on the organizational ladder. This year will see an increase in the understanding of the cardinal differences between projects and programs and the utilization of strategies to boost program managers’ effectiveness and increase program success.

Cash management, right from its arrangement/generation to spending (cost cutting), is going to be the focus in this peroid of recession. |

Except all these ideas /concepts ,the project incharge should have a better sense for hidden or fourt-comming /unforeseen activities that may play an important role for running the project successfully.

Physical Work Porgress Monitoring has always been a challenge as various techniques and thum rules are used in reality to assess Physical Work Progressed at site... These are not very effective in reality to make sound Project Management Decisions, hence we have to rely on a Good Online Progress Monitoring System, whcih may be the future ...!!! |

This a very authentic idea and one should have a better sense/inspiration/insite to project also.

To me, as budgets tighten, the role of virtual teams will grow along with the demand for the skill sets to manage them, especially through change. And powerful communication, key management strategies and new rules of engagement will be required to manage virtual teams as organizations seek to effectively shift with the turbulent global economy which is there... |

Most of the projects till date were funded by the government and were welfare oriented. Now the PPP projects are gaining more importance. Every funding is taking a U turn and looking towards the people for money for building the projects. For People to fund any project (May be through toll taxes and other indirect taxes) quality is the key issue. And so the Total Quality Management takes the lead. Most of the companies have gone public previous two decades to seek participation from the public. Infrastructure, Power projects are taking the lead. For the years to come the 2009 is a transition Year. |

May be, but I don't think they would fit into corporate field. Corporate workplace is very different for what they have worked. So fitting into it is very difficult. |
