From company point of view branding is very important. It will get you more projects and more work for your company and the thing is that i am opening a new firm. So in general what are the strategies for Branding an organization as such??? As this is the best community to ask about brands, so i am putting my question here...Do share your thoughts on this.

According to me as a layman to this field branding should be based on the nature of business. Like if an IT company goes for a fashion show, it may not yield the same results as it would have got by going to an IT Fair or something similar. in a similar way a real estate company may go for road show something on property market. So branding should be done according to the nature of business.

Brand is the identity of the Organisation hence has got all the aspects of an Human Being like Brand Personality, Brand image, Brand Values etc....

To establish that emotional connect the Organisation has to identify the following

1. Its target Customer segment and their preference/behaviourial traits and create an image

2. Come with products and service delivery models that suits the life style and traits of the target customers

3. Identify the core strengths of the Organisation and potray them using mediums to which the target customer segments is maximum exposed to so as create maximum impact

4.  Be identified as an innovator hence leader rather than being a follower in the market.

5. Use the customers testimonials for furthering the Brand Promotion activities

6. Make the customers the Brand Ambasadors and Brand Promoters

Branding is not just what

As i see the question as brief it may sound is, the answer is much more elaborate and the crux for survival of a business.

Brand is way beyond the Marketing perview. If you are starting a new business even the type of your recuritement ad and the medium you use for the same will encompass branding. I have always felt that branding is every aspect of your business and the ultimate "Brand" that emerges is the sum total of all that. The proportion and importance and contribution of each element may vary.

The best way is to compare it to the human body. The person we see in front of us is the "brand" and every aspect of the body - the head, hair, eyes, features, hands , legs etc. make the person.

So consider every aspect with utomost care and its ultimate effect on the brand.

Strengthening Image Integrity

The strategy for building a brand of a company which is being formed is simplle, but quite tough to achieve. Brands cannot be built overnight. Since brand is the image of any company in the eyes of the public, it requires dedication, integrity, goodwill, consistency in performance as well as quality of service or product. It is only after a certain duration of continued effort to excel, that a brand is born. This duration is not fixed, it depends on efficiency and sustained effort of the company.

Complement your INNER SELF

It might sound whacky, but the feeling here as rightly said by Jahnavi is correct. It goes beyond Marketing.

Especially when you are in the start up stage, your business plan in place and your product ready to be placed in the public eye, branding of the offering should always have the essence of your soul. The GUT feel.

When you have conceived the idea of the offering, it has certainly taken birth with your skill of understanding and business sense, but the reason to put it forward is naturally your emotion. So my suggestion is to let that emotion guide you and start attributing the brand by complementing it with your INNER SELF. The answers will be right there!! There need not be a RULE book for everything, sometimes its best to allow NATURE take its course (maybe all the time) :)
