I think this is the reason why China has become the world's manufacturing hub, they have a strong manufacturing base. |

hello Isha,few things to add.
1. China have an communist Government where corruption is not as much as in India.even corruption is existing Govt.will dealt it very seriously and harshly.
2.knowing that huge population is a bane, they have effective curtailed/controlled it and lot of resources have been utilised very carefully and wisely.
3.initially quantity has gained more importance rather than quality to capture market by setting cheaper prices.
4. there determination to become leaders in the global market.

The focussed approch to dominate the world and to make them dependant is what China targetted from last 30 years. Today the are reaping the seeds that they sowed. where as India has done a large part of the work to support the design and development of software and new products from here only to see that the revenus grown only in the respective worked years. China has the resource pool to come together to create a manufacturing unit of any kind, size as the industry policies are encouraging. I think even now teh time is not too late, if we can make investments in planning to create the manufacturing hub in India which would eventually open the doors to young engineers to come up with new sophisticated products and develop the compitition among the mfr.s to grow at a repid pace in next 12-15 years will be realy beneficial for the country to have the economic strong.

Strong decision making, heavy investment on technology upgradation , fast execution to avoid cost overrun / escalation, strong emphasis on cost minimization etc. are some of the factors that establish Chinese dominance in manufacturing sector. Strong support from government exists.

To create strong manufacturing base in China the govt. brought in the policy that for any technology leader will have to have to invest in manufacturing also. This has developed the capacity in China. Contract labour laws are simpler as only a gauranteed employment on contract is given and a totally new group can be inducted after the period of contract is over or conditions not fullfilled. This is based on the premise that a chinese would get benefitted as he would be replacing the other chinese- so if a chinese is employed for 200 days instead of 365 days the other would also be employed for same period. The satisfaction index in nos would be much higher and the threat of retrenchment due to bad performance will ensure higher performance level and a performer would try to raise the bar. Productivity is very high once on the shop floor the chinese worker is concentrating on work and follow the time discipline for tea lunch break etc partly to above reason ,partly to communism and partly to have learnt hardway and then the pride to become worldclass thus keeping the focus. To beat China we have to have pragmatic policies, higher motivation for productivity and first time right concept. Cosistency in quality, maintain delivery schedule. Come out of Chalta hei attitude. Managers should not look at production targets but at the final targets with the concept Deliver products and services to customer whereever he wants whenever he wants and as he wants or whatever he wants(meet the specifications accepted for the order).

The manufacturing procedures are well set in China, where workers and supervisors are given due credit they deserve. |

China has sold itself on a single point: the size of its market. "Every businessperson of any size anywhere in the world knows what the number 1.3 billion means: China's big market. How many know the population of India? Chinese leaders discarded their Mao suits immediately and put on coats and ties, talked the language of commerce, organised thousands of delegations, hosted endless conferences and exhibitions, and laboured to convince foreign investors that China was pro-business, stable, and committed to reform and an open-door policy. In contrast, India's corporate leaders agree that the country's politicians have never sold the country. |

For long china has sheltered the yuan from market fluctuations and thus insulated its market from external factors. This coupled with the cheap labour and abundant raw material at reasonable prices have helped the chinese to dominate the manufacturing sector for long. Plus the other factors like industrial espionage and receipt of technology from friendlier comrade countries like North Korea who themselves steal it from other advanced nations have helped them dominate. And this is bound to continue till the world sits up, takes notice and regulates the chinese activity. |

If I say this people would not like my opinion but the fact is a fact. Mr. Guruprasad I would also like to know your opinion about the same. Why have you posted on the REVOLUTION side? |
" Although feminism speaks the language of liberation, self-fulfillment, options, and the removal of barriers, these phrases invariably mean their opposites and disguise an agenda at variance with the ideals of a free society." - Michael Levin... |
It is important to spread awareness and media can play a good role in it. But the sides which you have mentioned do not justify the debate. I understand that you are concerned about the safety measures and want people to take it seriously. I suggest... |
