According to me first of all one need to assemble a team to examine their current spending. Ideally, this team will consist of the best IT engineers, at least one member of the accounting department and someone from the legal department. Their job is to examine every aspect of the IT department to identify areas where cuts can be made. They should also look for potentially wasteful processes and shortcuts to the current operational methodologies. |

In order to reduce present costs of operation one needs to restructure operating methods and business development strategies. Redefining operations would also include decisions related to capital expenditure and optimum utilization of existing equipment. Collective effort of involving the team towards achieving this goal has it's own benefits.

Like Mr. Radhakrishna emphasized on being cautious while purchasing unnecessary new systems,I would advocate to stop throwing away old equipments.Computers, cell phones, fax machines and every other piece of office equipment can be sold on eBay or to local dealers. Not only does this help reclaim some money from salvaged gear, it also eliminates the costs associated with the disposal of information technology equipment. |

I totally agree with this idea. We have observed that many companies are not really aware of handling e-waste. All they do is either dump it as garbage or sell it to scrap dealers resulting in tons of silicon garbage not recycled and toxic waste enters into the ecosystem.

I think that in these tough economic times company need to buy only necessary systems which will come useful. They need not spend on the cool gadgets or systems just to "test them out".The mantra of company should be "Buy only what we need, not what we want". |

I think Use of Open Source software and Virtualization of system will decrease the IT cost. Use of Open source OS(e.g fedora, centOS etc) and other softwares help in cut the Cost than buying costly products. Also in many firms, everyone use personal CPU. Using terminal server and client (thin client) will cut the hardware cost as well as Power Consumption.

In most of IT firms, the resource persons (Can I say employees) will not show any interest to shut off the computer monitors. But, a survey reveals that the most power consumption will be taken by monitors when systems are in operational. Hence, the firms can generate a batch program to hint their employees to power off their monitors when they are not in use. Even, one can think making a screensaver in this direction so that if not the user his/her peer can switch off the monitor when it is not in use and this can reduce the power consumption considerably.

So g+ is trying hard to survice now we have brand pages on g+ too. To add to this they have added game apps to lure people. but are there enough people to make this work? Will game apps do any good to g+? |
Yes sir the product is really good but it is designed for different purpose. It is mostly used for military purpose. |
This might sound odd to many but yes laptops are not tough. They can break and get damaged and you will regret if this happens. So the best thing to do is to protect it the best way possible. There is just one laptop Tough book which will not... |
