The boss-employee story has two sides. While one side tells about the bitter experiences of the employees with their bosses, the other side says that the employees are not the only ones having a beef about their bosses. Bosses too get sick of their employees at times. According to you what are the worst office manners which irritates your boss?  Share your thoughts on this..

Manners - common to both!

idea posted by S. Muralidharan Executive Director, Knowledge Foundation & Campus Around the Corner
If bosses fail to command respect, he has to put up with perpetual worst manners - its "give and take"! Worst office manners stems from the fact that the leadership is at fault somewhere, otherwise, situations of this sort would not happen! Worst Office Manners that should be avoided are: "not keeping the mobiles on silent mode when the crucial meeting is on"; "not responding to telephones"; "yelling and chatting with others when the boss is around"; "give scant respect to office decorum"; "Barging in Boss's room when the visitors are around without knocking the door"; "taking the boss head on when he points out some corrective action"; and so on and so forth.....

Intolerable cell phone behavior

idea posted by Kriti Das HR Manager, ANZ Information Technology

You are in a meeting and your cell phone rings again and again. It can be the major contributor to your boss's dislike towards you. Adding to it, receiving multiple phone calls at work is never appropriate. Bosses also hate employees peeping on their cell phones while at work.  Also talking loud over the phone while in office irks the employer.

Punctuality

I think office decorum and the punctuality do irritate bosses a lot. They will never accept the fact that an employee is late for his work even though they themselves come late and have a nice time....

Procrastination

Follow up, chase through, remind- these are the pet peeves that all bosses have, once they assign a task. So, thou shalt not procrastinate- thus goes the first commandment in the good employee's handbook.

Yes Muralidharan, apart from all the good points you mentioned, in addition, it irritates poking nose/intruding into Boss's personal affairs unless it is shared with you.
