Some people ask this question before the interviewer has a chance to even ask THEIR first question and this is a big mistake. It makes it seem as if all you are after is money. As a rule, wages and salaries are not discussed during the first interview. You may have three interviews altogether with one company. If money is discussed, it is up to the interviewer from the company to open up that subject. If they ask you how much money you want, have a range of salaries to give them and not a specific amount. First, research how much the job you want really pays in your town or state and then come up with a range of a yearly salary to request. Or you could use a broader range, like $30,000 - $40,000 a year. Make sure it is a realistic range. For example, if a fast food full-time grillman in your town usually makes $13,000 per year, don't interview at that restaurant and ask for $20,000 - $30,000 per year. |

Absolutely. It is actually not a good idea to discuss salary. It is granted that companies will be willing to pay any premium for the best talent, i.e. if talent is one of their key people management strategies. If you are sent by a recruitment agency, it is advisable to negotiate salaries through the agency.
YOU MAY ASK THIS question depending upon the nature of job. like for entry level job it is not a bad question

A very good question Ramprasad indeed...I appreciate that young people like you are concerned about their future & career prospectives. Bashing a former boss, or criticizing them in any way, lets the interviewer know that you will do the same to them if you leave their company. Instead, you can explain that you had a difference of opinion with your former employer in work philosophies or styles. Do not dwell on your answer about an employer where things did not go so well for you, and make it short. |

I would suggest that never criticise your former employee. Never forget that you decided to join your previous organisation not that you were forced into it. The organisation where you worked gave you a lot of first hand experiences and knowledge which you would not have got if you did not joined it. Experiences are worth millions of dollars.
One should not criticize his base,or should not regret his choice which he had made earlier...

Good question, but many of us fail to follow the golden rules & fail to crack the interview. Iwould like to add another idea here. A job candidate must research the company for which they want to work before going into a job interview with them. Look the company up on the Internet and read as much as you can about it and take notes. Try to find the company's Annual Report and read it. Your local libraries can help you do that. |

Thanks for the referral Ms Sarika, Some candidates have the habit of not asking, WHOM SHOULD I REPORT MY DAILY ACTIVITIES/PROGRESS, bu they ask HOW MANY PEOPLE DO I HAVE TO REPORT TO? This gives out an impression that the person is not a team player. |

This things we are doing basically when we forget to bring some important documents:- Neglecting to bring information required on the application, or bringing too few copies of your typo-free résumé, looks just plain careless. |

I think this is the vry first impression on interviewer that the person is prepared for an interview or not.One should be well dressed in his preperations, questions are secondary to face, person face you first before questions.

Avoid asking about various benefits, vacation times, weekend work in the very first interview. Wait until the employer pick up the topic to discuss with you. |

Doing MBA or ME is totally an individuals choice. It depends on what he wants to do afterwards. If MBA were the best whywould people go for ME . But there are many who are ME and then Phd too. It has to be left on an individuals choice. |
