What can be done to increase the pace of commonwealth games projects?

Even today most of Architects are preparing their drawings on treaditional CAD softwares. whereas technology advanced to BIM and other related software which constructs the buildings virtually and finds the clashes in software before going to execute any thing on site.

Clash detection and other software programs are much helpful at the atage of design development prior to execution where we run entire 3D model for clash detection. then drawings are certified and acan be issued as GFC(Good for Construction).

L&T and other gaints in the industry are already using such techniques for airport construction. there 0% of clashes found at site.

The following steps are urgently needed to be taken for timely completion of works of Commonwealth Games:

1. Effective and constant monitoring.

2. Termination of contracts of those contractors whose physical progress is 25% or more behind schedule.

3. Review of resources of other contractors to judge their capability to complete works in time.

3. Calculation of manpower , material and machinery requirements for completion of each project in time.

4. Directing the contractors to increase their resources as per above calculations.

5. Change of departmental staff where-ever required.

Do you all think preparing for the common wealth games is a task which cannot be completed in time?! Well we all know and understand that we lack in the spirit of honesty. Delhi the capital of India is hosting the games next year, when was it declared that India will be hosting the games for 2010- way back in 2006 … guys it’s not that we lack in talent, it’s the reason that we lack in Honesty, we are corrupt…I will say every Indian is corrupt…our genes have developed in such a manner that we inherit corruption. Think on….. This every person in India everyday in his life uses corruption…stop this and we will achieve success. With the commonwealth games also the same thing has happened…….do you think really there is no one who knows everything about the infrastructure development required for the common wealth games….sure there will be, but he/she /they  is/are not acting or not allowed to act…for someone’s or somebody’s personal interests….So to my opinion we (India) will fail to complete the task in hand. The only quality of each and every Individual required at this time is honesty and dedication.

I apologize if I have said/written anything which is not acceptable,but this is what I see as a third person when we see other countries.

Well I agree to the views of Pragya, Keshav and Mr.Mohd.Bakhsh, but my views are in addition to theirs, technology after all works when a human mind works in right direction, Software’s can work fast if the person working on it is clear in his views and honest to his Job, collecting and updating activities will help you only when the people over there honestly jot down the correct entriesand not manipulated ones ,and confusions can be eradicated if things are  well understood and not that mind is always trying to think how I can earn more money out of this.

Even now if the Authorities wake up and be honest to their Job and keep corruption aside till the completion of the projects for common wealth game, I am sure we can make it a grand success.

Sort out cluttered places.Sit together and collect all activities and uptodate it.U start with zero sum with space time 9x30x24x60x60=23328000 sec.Please chip in and do it within the time.Ur name will be entered in Bharat's folklore.

It is seen that most of the projects are not completed mainly due to confusion that is there in the state departments which needs to give clearances and many stadiums like the one "Chhatrasal Stadium" missed deadlines because of the confusion about parking. And those guilty are in the government’s own departments or agencies like the MCD and the DUAC. What action is possible against them? I mean even after so much controversy behind the games like whether Delhi will be able to successfully host or not, and all the CWG directors coming to India and have expressed their views like how bad the situation is, even after that officials are not serious here, it is high time that everybody joins in and makes these games a success which more than half of the world will be watching, the work should be carried in a synchronised manner than haphazard manner which is happening right now.  So taking out these confusions that are happening is the major bottle neck that the games is facing.

1. Regular monitoring.

2. Mobilisation of resources.

Since it is a prestiege question mobilisation of resources should be on war footing.

A group of administratrators should be given the task withnecessary delegation of the authority to complete the work intime.

There seems to be a lot of problems right from the designing stage, to execution, to decision making. We need to eliminate all kinds of bugs at every stage and streamline the process. Everyone involved in the project  should knows his/her responsibility and should be able to take appropriate steps as and when required.

Cooperate the construction agencies by releasing the bills and improve their cash flow.

Coordinate the connected departments Project Engineering, Town planning and HVAC and take the overall Progress review meetings. Ask for the catch-up programs where ever there is delay. Release the incentives wherever there is achievement is ahead of schedule approved.

Co-opt the contractors by declaring the bonuses for the works completed ahead of time schedule and thus allowing follow-up works pickup speed.

All the government contracts are full of clauses for liquidated damages and client centered. Now it is high time reconcile, reschedule and recover the time in most efficient and practical way.
