I Need, I Want and I Expect from My very own India and Indians the following:

idea posted by Shiuli Mukherji Head Strategy Plan- , Region SEA

Good roads mandatory.

Good manners are paramount.

When an accident takes place you find yourself asking how is the person doing, rather than whether he is a hindu, muslim, SC,ST.

When you board a commuter train, people readily give up their seats for the elderly, disabled or pregnant.

People stop saying that they can't rely on the police force and our Judiciary as they are corrupt.

We are all Indians, anyone who doubts that should be questioned.

What we read in papers reflects what is happening instead of what was supposed to happen.

No special privileges for the special few, you have the same basic profile like the others, use it and develop yourself.

Illegal immigrants are deported immediately.

Public service is commendable; people should say that the govt services is better than the private sector.

What you see advertised in the newspapers is actually what you get. No hidden lines as disclaimers.

Traffic accidents are kept to a minimum.

Results and entrance requirements into public institutions are made public.

No more cast, creed, race based politics.

When you go as a tourist overseas, people envy you for being an Indian citizen.

People worship our ministers as if they were Obama.

Health care is affordable and available.

One feels safe to take a stroll down the park.

Every single paisa spent by the govt is available to public purview.

Every district and state functions on its own without much aid from the Central govt.

Every single citizen fulfils his responsibility to vote.

We should live by example and be happy with what we have but continuously strive for what we lack. Please give me something to shout about as an Indian.

Truth, reality and authenticity

idea posted by Ajit Khan Sales/BD Manager, Future Group

In 2009, we have seen many companies and enterprises tampering with their accounts, medias revealing false informations, duplicating historical entities, cooked up stories, bribing, misleading people and encouraging banned acts. They continue to do this just to satisfy their wants and intensions. People these days are curious to know the truth lying behind all these. The coming generation expects and really need truthfulness and visibility in whatever people do..

This is exactly what I wish for! I want the GOVT to act more responsibly. I also want us, me included, to debvote time for the social upliftment of our nation which also includes carrying out GREEN initiatives!!

Corruption free India is what I wish for and this will be possible only if sensible people like us are involved in critical matters that would really change things for good even if this has to happen slowly for a start...

Consumers are hungry for new products visualising the rapid growth of development in the country. They can accept any product provided it suits them accordingly.

Opportunities

idea posted by Dayanand Deshpande Senior Consultant, Ernst & Young

People will be mainly focusing onto opportunities because of the current scenario of the economy. But has the global recession really ended? Whatever may be the answer, people will be in search of jobs everywhere. They try grabbing any opportunities that follow their hands.

Maturialism

idea posted by Shailena Varma Logistics Manager, Target

I expect 2010 to be even more opinionated, risky, outspoken. Consumers these days can handle much more quirkiness, more daring innovations, more risk communications and conversations, more exotic flavors and so on than traditional marketers could have ever dreamed of. In short, audiences in mature consumer societies no longer tolerate being treated like yesteryear’s uninformed, easily shocked, inexperienced, middle-of-the-road consumer.
