What facilities can be provided to college students to do part time jobs?

In India many colleges work form morning till evening and the student are also not interested to sit for the whole day. So the colleges can reduce their working hours to 5 hours a day and allow the students to work for some company in the remaining time. This will help them to concentrate on the class and also to get corporate exposure. This will give them a clear view of what they are studying  and how to prepare them self according to the expectations of the companies.

Students will always be busy with studies,traveling,extra curriculars,exams etc.so they should be given a chance to work from home with a specific target(work) given. So they can attain their target in their flexible spare time and can gain experience and money along with their academic studies

I think what student would require while working during his studies is an absolute Easy Shift System, so that it doesnt hampers neither his Studies nor his Work.

This would not only keep him stress free, but also he will enjoy both the Worlds.

I think colleges should have tie-ups with corporates , so that students can work on projects taken up by colleges for companies. For instance , companies want to save energy by proper instrumentation ; this project can be given to students , with the incentive that if the project is successful , the students who worked on it get to share some of the monetary benefits that accrued from the project.

Software companies have a need for documentation ; college students can work on such projects , so that they get an idea of how software packages work , how projects are implemented , and of course , the importance of good documentation.

Every college has many requirements that they can hire students to satify at nominal cost. A good example is assistants to librarians. Normally he is in charge of putting the books back in their place and ensuring that books are well located and compiling the current years requirements for purchase etc. These are all small jobs which can be done by say 3 students working in shifts every day on minimum wage. 

Such employment also teaches them the value of money and  a sense of responsibility. 

I also like the concept of corporates recruiting them for projects. This is another option where they can grow academically as well.

We have a different culture in India and the parents take care of their children for a very long time and till they settle well in life. In many families, parents an important role as a family head even when their children attain an age of 40 or 50. We need to come-out of this basic attitude and our parents should recognize that the children should be exposed to practical soon in their life so as to make them truly independent. Again, we need to change our educational system. Not only that, the students may not be able to do part-time jobs in view of the sheer competition and the idea may not prove good at times. What I basically feel is that our system should change and we need to change our basic thinking as otherwise it may not be possible. Some may like our system including the president of barrack obama and we look at the western system.

You can take students who have specific and relevant educational background so as to reduced training and improve returns from the employees. Also coordinate with educational institutes to cater to attendance issues of students if required.

There are students who are doing part time jobs with same vigor and enthusiasm.But this labor go unrecognized.The course contents should be do designed that  within the same bar they find useful part time employment so as to cater for their other hobbies, like entertainment,net surfing.The topic taken up by toostepians is timely and over due it is high time educational institutions pay attentions to the needs of the students.The suicide attempts by the students is being reported and the reasons being,peer pressures and failure in friendships.The coaching classes has helped increased interaction and participation.The part time jobs with credits in exams will go a long way in mitigating the sufferings of the parents and the students as well.

We do some projects in colleges...If these projects will be industry projects or live projects then we can do those projects during our college period, no extra load also.We will get some good experience on live projects and also of industry...Company can provide stipend after looking the finished project or the progress...

I think time has come to change the undergraduate level degree programe in a sense that after compleating his/her degree person must be able to set up his own venture or able to take up job. As we all know in our country large on people after compleating his/her studies .they are not employable. To counter this siutation we need change our cirricullam and need to provide chance to horn the skill of our students.

The students should concentrate on studies till the completion of graduation. It will help them for clear understanding of theories and they will also attain matured age to face the society after graduation. Part time job is helpful in many ways to the students of higher education. They can use the knowledge, earn for their studies and gain experience. But, a lot of infrastructure and change in attitude required to develop this concept in our nation.

The attitude of young people is more important rather than facilities. Rather than aping the West where part-time working is quite common among students as they have to support their education our students do not really need to work part-time as university education is cheap, parental support is taken for granted, and college is generally considered to be fun time. There might, of course, be cases of Indian students who might not be that fortunate and may have to work part-time to support their education.

The college/University should design the courses where the students will get an opportunity to work in the companies while they are studying (also known as Industry Integrated programs)

It can be 3-4 days work as trainee with stipend or a fixed pay and 3 days class room sessions for theoretical classes.
