I think cloud will take over, we will see basic applications moving on to the cloud basically internet. ERP applications and basic application development and maintenance will be done for and will be on the cloud. We will even slowly see deals moving in that direction. |

It is all about economics of scale. However, we need to wait and see of the 3 models will be most popular - 3 possible cloud model
|

Apart from as sumitra has suggested that applications moving ot clound, another basic trend, is the shifting of the entire focus of the CIOs towards total IT outsourcing (ITO) vendors. As a result, we might see a lot of consolidation of best-of-breed vendors, who don’t possess ITO capabilities. Global IT companies seem to have realised this shift. The multibillion dollar acquisitions this year of Perot by Dell, ACS by Xerox and Sun Microsystems by Oracle, indicate that entire strategic plate is shifting towards ITO. |

IT infrastructure management and application maintenance is going to be the key area where organizations will look to reduce their IT budgets. Companies will look for partners who can provide Remote Infrastructure Management services. |

The mystifying Pranav's inventions and the Surface computing are the forthcoming booms in the market. Linking the physical world to the digital world.

Yes, I had seen Pranav mistry's presentation in TED india conference where he explained about his sixth sense technology which in itself is an amazing technology, and yes this surface computing which happens with just a touch will change IT industries face totally.

The Future Trends that I see in IT industry are: - Cloud Computing - Most of the companies like IBM, Microsoft are heavily investing on this - Virtualization Technologies - IT offshoring and nearshoring i.e. Management of software apps across geographies with Eastern Europe and Latin America as potential competitors as offshoring locations to India and China - Convergence of technologies with applications working seamlessly on PCs, mobiles, TV, smart phones and other devices like iPAD |

Well, everyone is foreseeing cloud computing as a new trend in IT industry. It seems to be promising inbring down cost to the orgainzation by providing SAAS and eliminating overhead of keeping operations at their end. But, I dont see it in near future, atleast not in the current form of Internet. What about the security of data? By putting data of Enterprises (we cannot avoid confedential or personal data) onto the clouds, are we going to give hackers a big treat? What about the availability? There has been recent incidents of lost connections, alike google's mail, doc services. You are trusting your entire business operation to someone else that you think is doing a good job of backing up your data and making sure it's secure and available. The future of Cloud computing seems still cloudy, at least to me. It may makeake some noise or a thunderstorm, but eventually, it will be followed by a huge silence. On the hand, I see a lot more oppurtunities and applications in mobile computing and portable device market. It's going to make a change in how we perceive data, our comprehension, and will empower decision making of a common man. For e.g. iPhone has already revolutionized the moblie market and put a lot of pressure on its competitors to come up with more creativite and innovative products. The innovative project "6th Sense" from Pranav Mistry clearly shows enormous potential in this market segment. Must watch, if not already. http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/pattie_maes_demos_the_sixth_sense.html |

This is booming like roaring cloud. Remote IT Infrastructure management is being accepted and implemented globally by all medium-big setup organizations. Next 5 years and you have all sort of jobs here . Please correct me. |

Software can be used in the cloud as and when required. People will start accessing software from the www as and when needed. for example we can use accouting software for a month and IT Return software for a day in future. |

First an interesting fact : Youtube, before it became so famous video sharing platform was actually a dating site! When we post videos on youtube some of them are a bit shaky and give the viewers a hard time. Youtube has found an answer to this... |
So g+ is trying hard to survice now we have brand pages on g+ too. To add to this they have added game apps to lure people. but are there enough people to make this work? Will game apps do any good to g+? |
