As the Government has decided to close down all the Deemed universities across India as they were not matching the required criteria set by government, but then what about the future of the students who have passed out from those universities or who are currently studying in them, already the protests are going on in various parts of the country opposing this decision from government, but most of the Deemed universities were into making huge money through admissions, and they were selling education to students.

With most of the states having deemed universities and now without government recognition to these, will create problem for students in future, may be these students stand less chance in getting a job with no value for their certificate.  But Government itself had given them their support earlier and now they are withdrawing from it, but with all this students should not suffer. So, what Government should do to help the students from these deemed universities? share your views.

Affiliate them with the state universities

idea posted by Smita Dalvi Sales/BD Manager, Hewlett-Packard

I think the main reason to close these 44 deemed this could be the best possible solution, by affiliating these deemed universities with state university so that the students would be able to complete their ongoing courses and obtain degree from the affiliating university. And if affiliation was not happening then efforts should be made to migrate/re-enroll the affected students to other institutions.

Yes Smita keeping the future of the students in mind your suggestion is the best solution for this.

Affiliate the unrecognized deemed university to state universities with government taking over the management and bring it under the onus of UGC will be the best way forward .But the welfare of the students who studied when these universities and their certificates of merit should be treated at par with UGC affiliated  state and central universities a successive government all of them recognized these autonomous entity under  'deemed to be university' under section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. so there in no disparity towards the students from these deemed universities when it come to employment opportunities

yes the students should b affiliated with the state university.because, now a days every university wants students and for that they persuade the children to their best by giving them attractive placement  and claim of being the best universities of the country,so the students are helpless sin that case and they get admitted there, and the story comes into play when the admission is already done and even sometimes in some cases never,so it is not the students who should suffer...but the universities.......

First let the government clarify the stand

idea posted by Rijo Stephen Cletus Business Analyst / Consultant for IT, Hospitals and Healthcare Sector

In the first place, this news looks like one fine morning the minister got a dream and called a press conference about this matter.

This is because, even after so many days of making the statement, there is no formal communication that has happened to any of these universities on this matter.  All are just waiting for a clarification from the government on this.

Worst part is that the statement has come in such a time of the academic year, wherein the students are kept guessing - either the years of effort put in these universities have gone waste or is there any value for the completion of course with these universities, or even can they take the exams due Jan end onwards?

Government when it does any such thing must first put in an action plan first to protect the lakhs of students that are going to b e affected instead of making political statements in the air and playing with the career of young India.

It is Right Mr. Rijo. Before Announcing this The  Govt Must have planned to take care of the Students either in the way of giving special status to the students who are studiying in those type of university who where in the middle of their course and then they can take take some sort of steps against universities rules. This Problem must be handles by Phase by phase process by the government in the way of announcing and a commison to be set by the govt to monitor the condition of the Deemed universities. Suddenly announcement create panic in the minds of students and parents and the managements Too.

give the degree of deemed university to the current students who are already enrolled

idea posted by Sandeep Aggarwal M.E/M.Tech/MS student, University of Western Australia

This step of closing down deemed universities who are not up to the standard is appreciable because it is necessary to maintain the level of education, as some of universities are just working as money making machines instead of providing quality education. But what about the students who are already enrolled?? I think it wouldn't be fare for them so according to me the government can give degrees of deemed university to the students who are already enrolled and moreover announce that no further degrees of deemed status would be given to the future students. I would also like to raise one more topic here " Is it compulsory to become engineer or doctor to earn good money if I am born in India? why not to have a equal pay scale for all professions say worker at McDonald and an architecture.."

I agree with you. It is the government (may be the previous one or even before that, it does not matter) that gave them the permission to declare themselves as Deemed universities. Let the present set of students studying in these universities be awarded when they complete the degree. Insecurity leads to unrest. Do not forget VP SIngh and Mandal commision report on on admission to colleges based on caste system.Suicides due to frustration has to be prevented first. Correction need to be done after that. Think of affiliating these universities to the well established ones at the earliest. Jai Ho.

Yes, govt should give the degree to current stundets those wre already enrolled. but so many deemed uni has their own rules for study. Govt has need to set guidelines for all deemed uni's. if they are not follow these guide lines , ban these deemed uni's. This is  neccesry for good education system....

Centralize entire education system with desired hierarchy

idea posted by Rajesh K Richhariya G.M., Sales & Marketing

For Future: Govt must centralize entire education system and take responsibility rather ensure that all degrees are legal. Student taking admission (difficult job), investing time money etc. etc... and one fine day it is declared unrecognized!!!!!

Who's fault? System for sure, How universities come up before procuring recognition? Who give them license???

For graduates or graduates in process: Govt should develop an additional short course to recognize their degrees.

Or else govt should withdraw from education system and let all universities work independently. They would grow as per competition.

Should have planed these properly

idea posted by Mathew Cherian Research Associate/Analyst, Western Michigan University

I don't know what the government can do. When their normal academia is not in shipshape, getting into such a stream education without thinking about the consequences is sort of infantile behavior by our planners which is not new to all of us by now.

its really disheartning by the way our honrable HRD minister declared their decision whithout concerning about the future of thousand of students studying there. How can a commette of 4 members can decide the future of lakhs of student without reviewing these colloges.I agree that there are certain deemed universities which are not in good shape,  but atleast give them certain time to recover, moreever there are certain institutes which are derecogninsed ,there infrastructure is much more excllent and admirable when compared to govt universities and placement is almost 100% , so its really a shamefull decision by atlast.

Take the students to the universities of that area

idea posted by chandrasekaran Chief of Bureau/Editor in Chief, Express Publications
The universities in the region are competent enough. They have reputation in the international level and companies respect the students coming out of the renowned universities. so, it will really help the students. Existing private universities should be allowed to run as colleges and forced to follow govt norms.

THE REASON AND EFFECT OF THE DE-RECOGNITION OF UNIVERSITIES

idea posted by jay krishna sharma Advisor/Outside Consultant, GLOBAL INFOTECH

IT IS NOT SUCH A EASY TASK TO RE - AFFILATE THE STUDENTS WHO ARE STUDING IN THESE ALL 44 DEEMED UNIVERSITIES . ALL THE COURSE AND SYLLABUS IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM THE STATE UNIVERSITY SYLABUS . THE DEEMED UNIVERSITIES ARE SUPPOSED TO BE DE-RECOGNISED BY THE TONDON COMITTEY ONLY ON THE BESIS OF A POWER POINT PRESENTATION . FOR EACH UNIVERSITY THE TONDON COMITTEY HAD GIVEN ONLLY 30 SECONDS FOR PRESENTATION AND THE INTRESTING FACT IS THAT THE UNIVERSITIES WHICH WERE GIVEN THE UGC APPROVAL DURING THE MINISTRY OF MR. ARJUN SING , THEY ONLY SUPPOSED TO BE DE-RECOGNISED DURING THE INISTRY OF MR. KAPIL SIBBAL . ONE STATE UNIVERSITY OF TAMILNADU(STATE GOVT.UNIV) 'S VICE CHANCELLOR HAS DECLARED A STATEMENT THAT THEIR UNIVERSITY HAS A DIFFERENT ADMISSION CRITERIA AND THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO CONDUCT EXAMINATION FOR ATLEAST 50,000 EXTRA STUDENTS WHO RARE SUPPOSRED TO CUM UNDER THIS UNIVERSITY AFTER DE-RECOGNITION OF THEIR PRESENT UNIVERSITY .

THE MOST EFFICIENT WAY OF RESOLVING THIS PROBLEM IS TO PROVIDE A TIME LINE FOR DEVELOPEMENT OF THESE UNIVERSITIES  BECAUSE THIS A POLITICAL ISSUE TOO AND FINALLY A STUDENT ONLY IS GOING TO SUFFER .

ALREADY INDIA OUR COUNTRY IS ALSO A GROWING COUNTRY AND EDUCATION STRUCTURE HERE IS NOT SUCH GOOD THAT OUR COUNTRY CAN STAND WITH ANY OF THE DEVELOPED COUNTTRY . THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD MAKE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR ALL THE INSTITUTIONS SO THAT THE STUDENT CAN GET A BEST OF ITS PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION.

THERE ARE A LIST OF HIDING REASONS OF THE ISSSUE OF DE-RECOGNITION OF THESE UNIVERSITIES WHICH IS KEPT CONFIDENTIAL ....................................
