DEAR EVERY BODY, FIRST OF ALL WE HAVE TO CONCENTRATE ON THE DISTRIBUTION AND TRANSMISSION OF POWER SYSTEM,BECAUSE THERE IS LOT OF POTENTIAL AVAILABLE . AND WE HAVE TO MOTIVATE &EDUCATE THE TOP MANAGEMENT PERSONNEL TO MINIMISE THE POWER WASTATGE. AS THE SAVING OF 1% OF POWER OF OUR COUNTRY IS >1000 M.W. IT'S REQUESTED ALL THE CONCERNED PL CONCENTRATE AND GIVE YOUR COOPERATION FOR THE CONCERNED,TO SAVE/OR MINIMISE THE WASTAGE OF POWER, EVEN FROMTHE PROJECT TIME ONWARDS. IT'SMY ANOTHER REQUEST NOT TO USE /ENCOURAGE INEFFICIENT UTILITIES/EQUIPMENTS/PROCESSES.IF AT ALL EXISTS, KINDLY RENNOVATE AND OPTIMISE THE PROCESSES. THOSE ARE VERY PROFITABLE IN LONG RUN. Mr. Stephen is right and hence i support his idea.
True, focus on the distribution side and take stern measures to prevent power theft. The big shots (industrialists and ministers) who don't pay their bills on time should be penalized heavily and their electric connection terminated.
|
|
Govt. should implement and adhere to a system that Timely & Regular maintenance of all type of systems to be done at Power Generation areas, Transmission & Distribution. Certainely regular maintenance would reduce Power Loss, Severe Power Cut and heavy loss in economy which is always faced every year as the maintenance are poor. |

|
Before distribution of Line, Govt. should cross check, what is the actual load of a particular area and they should install or get it installed by the contractor, the transformer with 15-25% extra efficiency so that if in future any further load is getting added in that area, the transformer should withstand the load and after regular check (say 2-5 years) they should upgrade the distibution system. This way problems are kept under control and economy is maintained.

The government should encourage people to use solar energy by subsidizing product using solar energy like solar cooker, solar water heater and solar panel. We all know the water heater consumer a lot of energy when we just switch it on for 15-20 min per day. If the government can just encourage people to use solar heater a lot of power every morning can be reduce. "Solar hot water rebate scheme" by which one will get rebate of certain % of power consumed by him if he uses solar heater. |

If you want present situation solution then govt should see that atomic power plant in india should produce the electricityl with full capacity during this summer, second govt should provide nafta, gas etc to gas power plants with fare cheap rate so the state utilities will get electricity below the price band of 1rupee. For long term solution govt should install the solar energy power project in the areas like Rajasthan and area of kachha, bhuj where solar power is available at more capacity and time. The places suitable for wind farms should be located and wind farms to be installed in large number with govt undertaking and lastly it is to be handed over to ntpc or state electricity utilities. As the more power with cheap rate is available the more industrial production is possible which results good sign for our nation

The government needs to provide a subsidy which will help the residential colonies and individual households to take care of a substential load requirements. Presently Wind Mills above a particular rating are subsedised and small generation for households doesn get any benefits. Cheers! Dupesh its a great idea, I agree with you. Even I think this is the best initiative measure to overcome power crisis.
Keep sharing such interesting idea.
Thanks.

Lots of Electrical energy is consumed every day but billing system is not to the mark. It is due to non payment of bills from Industries, Ministers and oother big giants. Hence Pre-Paid billing system to be introduced on priority basis to safe guard energy loss and economy of the country. |

|
In this prepaid billing system consumer gets very much aware that how much money he has remitted with the authority and consumes limitedly not like post paid system where customer uses electricity to his maximum exrtent and at the time of remitting bill, could not remit it due to lack of money or so.

Every year almost all coastal states and other states having sufficient water gets flooded during rain and the left out result are death of human being, properties and thus indian economy. Indian Govt. should come forward and start costruction of Dams so that with that Hydel Power could be generated and would be good substitute to come across power crisis in India. |

India as a nation, wasts lots of our resources. Its normally quoted that "Power Saved if Power Generated". We must focus on power waste and try to minimixe them. On the Full Moon Nights the street power suply can be dimmed / switched off and we should make use of Moon Light during clear sky nights. Similarly the switching ON / OFF timings of sterrt lights may be adequately set to minimize power waste. In some cases the street light "Sodium Lamps" are put permanently ON for want of adequate solar light operated switches. |

I agree with this .
I agree with this point. We Indians waste a lot of electricity that anybody else. Its a very coomn thing in an average Indian house that unused fan, light etc.. are running wasting a lot of electricity which results in power crisis.
Also, lot of problem is created because of power theft. Theft in electricity is also one of the big problems in power crisis. If we seriously work on these two problems. I am sure, we can prevent power theft up to a big extent...

The government can initiate actions on several fronts to overcome the power crisis. 1. Add generation capacity. Eventhough there is a target to double the generation capacity by 2017, we are awfully short of meeting the targets. 2. Improve the performance of existing power stations by R&M and efficiency improvements. 3. Availability of fuel (coal) for the power stations needs to be improved. Several power stations in India are operating with 2 to 3 days of coal stock. 4. The government needs to promote development of green power (wind, solar, geothermal etc.) by providing appropriate incentives. India has a vast wind power potential which needs to be tapped. Except the state of tamil nadu, this potential remains untapped in the other states. The government can support the initiatives of developers of wind power projects by allocating land and providing subsidised financing. 5. Promoting distributed power generation for rural areas. It could be biogas based, solar, biomass. power generation from waste/ garbage should also be promoted in urban areas.

Though, criticizing to something is very easy.So i am not criticizing any thing.Because our country is just of 63 years infants. Still to increase the life of our India, government can make sustainable Infrastructure. In residential Area-Homes should be allowed to made in such a way that they wont face any hotness in summer and coldness in winter. Now u must be thinking how can both conditions be adopted.Yes these can through plantation big trees around home and with good architects. In industrial areas, also government should start some own power consultancy company which will be continuouslt observing power consumption of industry and when consultancy firm will advise some ways to decrease its industry's consumption. Biogas plant, solar cell plant,Sewage waste plant-these can give huge elecricity, all government need to Build and Transfer those to promote them.

I have worked in past in Konkan region of Maharashtra where the tribal s residing on hilltop are still lacking in basic amenities of Electricity , potable water etc. Stayed there for approx 17 years experiencing that availability of these basic amenties is not appearing in agenda of any institution.
Considering this scenario , some NGO / Corporate has to come forward for electrifying the villages using solar energy .
We conducted a study in past and observed that approx a family spend approx Rs 52 / month for illuminating their houses using kerosene lamp. A 5kW solar panel system with LED bulbs (3 Nos) is available @ cost of approx Rs 3400/-. The only consumable is the battery cost approx Rs 500 and requiring replacement in 2 yrs.
In Case a Corporate house can sponsor part of this initial cost of Rs 3400/- per family , all the houses can be illuminated and to sustain this a contribution of Rs 25/- per month can be collected against their present expenditure of Rs 52/ - per month(that too at a subsidized price of kerosene).
I am sure this can work using the self help group approach. Attempt was made and we got a positive response from tribals , however couldn't got sponsor to finance the initial 50
% investment.
If any body is interested , please approach for detailed study conducted in past.

At present power plants are starved of coal. New power projects will not get regular supplies. Allocated coal blocks are not yielding. Policy needs to be in place to ensure coal supplies to both existing and upcoming projects. |

Shopping Mall should user solar panels and non-conventional energy sources to generate electricity
|
|
Currently if we see, many shopping malls are opening in many cities in India. These shopping malls use large amount of electricity to attract people. My suggestion is the governement should ask mall owners to install solar panels on the rooftops to atleast generate 50% of total electicity consumption. |

govt should plan a billion dollar project to introduce solar cells to give suitable action against energy crisis .for a long term basis.no doubt indian govt is spending lots of money for rural developement.....but we can find in 60% of rural areas electric conection is just for formality...only one to three hour u can find current ,rest of day it is dark.....so why can't govt plan a billoin dollar plan to tackle energy problem by solar energy.....it is more economical if it is for long term basis.
