Batteries are used to store energy in a chemical form. As an alternative energy, batteries can be used to store energy in battery electric vehicles. Battery electric vehicles can be charged from the grid when the vehicle is not in use. Because the energy is derived from electricity, battery electric vehicles make it possible to use other forms of alternative energy such as wind, solar, geothermal, nuclear, or hydroelectric. Since they produce zero emissions to help counteract the effects of global warming, as long as the electricity comes from a source which produces no greenhouse gases. |

The idea may be good but the distance between two charging stations has be much nearer than as mentioned. Also they need to have double or triple sets of batteries. Also the charging time has to be reduced significantly
Yes this can be option for Local Transport with Combination of Grid Charged and Solar Charged EV's (Electrical Vehicles)
The main hurdle could be the recharging stations. If the charging stations are available within 30 KM periphery the model can be commerically adopted. Also one can think to use the rooftop of large complexes for solar charging this can become reveune for those complexes. On 2-3 years horizon we can cut down the Emission levels by 80% caused by Autorikshaws ( they contribute 40-50 % total emissions in any city in INDIA)
One should think of the discarded batteries (at present batteris can not be reused). They will cause huge non disposable piles and will become source of water and land contamination.

The idea of tidal power is really great but to execute this idea require a lot of finance and support from either Govt or a large private corporation. To take the services of a private giant corporation again the Govt has to support the plan in terms of infrastructure space and also some kind of favour to that private organisation etc

river water shortage due to dams, irregation, population growth, inter state misunderstanding causes to go for tidal power whichis cheep except corrosion to boiler tubes ,water speces effects only negative point, otherwise it is promotable industry.spardhasaradhi@rediffmail.com
due to population, unevengrowth to roads, flyovers, currepted town planners, mafia oriented coalmnes, war oriented gulf oil fields, battery problms of recharge due to power shotdowns,is only alternative to the present crises of polution, illhealths near power plants causing shifting to solar power system the appartments should use solar power to ease the power crises.spardhasaradhi@rediffmail.com
Cost of delivering solar energy is dropping to around Rs. 10 to Rs. 12 per unit .
This makes solar power cheaper to deisel power costing Rs.15 per unit.
Within next two years it may further come down.
It is a green Energy.

Decentralised power generation on local alternative fuels like biodiesels, agro waste, biogas from waste treatment, solar power utilisation will be the need of the future. Hydrogen could be one of the promising fuel, provided deveolopement for separtion becomes economically viable. Education to the people for more resposible use of power will be the key to control the ever increasing gap in demand and supply. |

The Idea is grsast only on part of Solar and Bio-mass other require some more technical know how and invovle ment. Considering India's 60% Popultion is in rural and Depend on farmming Bio-mass can provide better option for local generation schemes.
The current goverment strategies are pro-capitalist and they do not encourage such models. The current schemes are such that min 1 MW power station has to be setup if you intend to set up Re-Power stations.
But yes on large the idea is cost effective considering 35-40% Transmission and distribution losses incurred in ouy systems.

Once we ensure good connectivity, there is no reason we can take toxic cars off the road. For the short term, sops to hybrid vehicles would be a plus

Seeing the current status of various sources of fuels, most of which create a lot of waste and also pollution, there are only two optional sources, one is solar and another nuclear, the solar power generation is very slow. Hopefully the nuclear option may prove to be a safe and viable solution. This is very important that we have to use this option very carefully to avoid any kind of leakage of radioactive rays which may prove to be dangerous

Tidal power can be extracted from Moon-gravity-powered tides by locating a water turbine in a tidal current, or by building impoundment pond dams that admit-or-release water through a turbine. The turbine can turn an electrical generator, or a gas compressor, that can then store energy until needed. Coastal tides are a source of clean, free, renewable, and sustainable energy. |
