Infrastructure, infrastructure, infrastructure... That’s what has been a big hurdle in the development of SMBs. In some countries, getting people to starting a venture, the complacency is they don’t want to take risk. |

I agree totally........Infrastructure creates the right environment to induce people into starting / expanding small business ventures. Of all things SMBs need to grow/expand in today's rapidly changing world, the following are the most important --
- Infrastructure - The single most contributing factor. Lack of it has hindered growth, in some cases even affecting survival. Today a small scale industrial unit in Delhi NCR runs for no less than 4-5 hrs per day on generators, due to absence of uninterrupted power supply. Same goes for the state of roads, water supply, availability of public transport that ferries local labour to these units, etc.
- Government apathy - A more proactive govt. and govt. policies are needed to improve infrastructure, introduce SMB friendly measures, bring along corporate professionalism and efficiency, and turn this industry into an organised one.
- SMB friendly tax structure - A friendlier tax regime is needed to ensure continued growth and expansion of SMBs, as these are mostly run by small business families/sole proprietors etc, for whom taxes/duties act as deterrents.

Professional Management. SMEs, mostly are individual or family, owned & run entities and due their tight control on management, fail to attract good talent and are deprived of professional management. |

I would like to stand for this idea because a poor common man,if has some small scale business idea in his mind, the government makes it almost near to impossible to approach them for further help...simply by passing it through a long process of paper work. the government still helps those who can afford 'help' for themselves... have not's are still not visible in the scene!

The National Sample Survey Organization(NSSO) discovered in its survey that almost half the country's farmers would abandon farming if they could find another occupation. If the FARMER does not grow food what will we eat ??? It is not like... |

The local currency dropped by Rs 1.24 against the dollar to close at 49.58 and is now expected to further weaken to below Rs 50 against the dollar. One dollor right now is equal to 49.58 Rs and time is not far when it will be more than Rs 50!... |
