I think personality and the attitude of the person matters most, skills, location and other factors takes a back seat but Attitude and personality gives you out what is the candidate all about and how he takes up jobs and things both at workplace and in life. The keenness and the eagerness to do something different and expecting nothing and giving complete productivity will attract employers if these qualities are there in an intern. |

Interns should have the sub conscious feeling to learn and also to get eagerness for solving or clearing their quries.

Any trainee should have the proper attitude and willingness to learn which is most important. Even a average candidate with above traits will be successful because attitude leads to hard work and dedication and when hard work and dedication are there, success cannot be far away. With right attitude a trainee will look for solutions even in impossible situations.
I think newcomers who are inducted into an organization , should bring something new / fresh into the organization.
It goes without saying that every employee should be willing to learn ; however , the purpose of an outsider is to question long-held beliefs , and try to come up with fresh ideas / out-of-the-box solutions to problems. This can only come about if questions are asked , instead of acceptance of age-old practices.
I would look for individuals who are good at critical thinking , backed by a willingness to engage in intelligent dialogue. Critical thinking and communication will figure high on my list of requirements.
In my opinion, personal attitude along with quest for knowledge will be foremost quality one should look during selection.

"Willingness to Learn" is the most important factor required for interns. It is a rare commodity now-a-days.

I too think that willingness to learn should be the first quality for interns.

I would always look for an Professional Attitude and a Zeal to learn. I would always look for a person who always is ready to take Challenges and come out winning those Challenges.

Absolutely I support this idea. There should be the right attitude for the person to observe and learn. The learning is not just the superficial knowledge. In the mean time, he/she may be required to do trivial jobs/tasks which many freshers doesn;t like. They should have the passion to learn every new thing which they observe. They need to question in their mind on why are things so? and why not otherwise? he/she should find out the answers themselves and not look for shortcuts.
Besides all the above listed factors, the attitude of the person defines his suitability to a particular position/situation. Persons with +ve attitude are likely to be the people fit for any occasion/organization. They can be moulded as per the requirement.

I think that the way of talking & working is very important thing for any people in any organization. this keeps & build your credit for that particular organization.

There is no permanent eneimy or friend in your career. So try to sail with the wind. Too much honesty is ur pitfall , me an example .

The most important thing we should look for in an intern is his/her ability to learn. His/her innate curiosity on the why. The ability to ask pointed questions. The ability to look around and assess the situation.If that ability is available, the intern can go leaps ahead in any job.

Its a must in the present generation, as it helps in methodical process of their own activities. since, we work in an environment which always has the tendency to back bite and blame rather than providing solution to the problem they face. So, being self dependent rather than depending on somebody else makes a huge difference. Of course one must come out of spoon feeding as it is prevailing in most of the organisation I came across. Secondly, knowledge gathering will be of great asset as it help in completing the task faster than you anticipate.
Sincerely saying body language gives the outlook and personality in the intern that they go through and knowledge gathering talks about the job what they are planning to take across further in their respctive career.

All the above five points are based on the outer personality. But a person to do better for an orgnz. should have the Good cultural background with high morale in his/her personal characters. So, the HR should observe their activities sometime inside or outside your campus, then only you should come to a conclusion, that the person is eligible. The character is lose, total career will be lost as could seen in most of the recent IT sectors and other stress business sectors.

To address the employee turnover, Companies are recruiting the college students with an assumption that they dont leave the organisation till their education is completed. Absorbing these candidates as regular employees depends on the candidates performance, his attitudes towards works,his personality, behaviour.
