The question is straight and simple as it is the time for the budget to be presented according to you which issue should our Finance minister address?

Price hikes

idea posted by Adrija Assistant manager finance , HDFC Bank

The prices for various commodities are going out of reach of a common man day by day the biggest focus sould be on controlling this hike. It will be the most important par because it will affect everyone of us.

Though this has been the biggest issue since last year yet i dont think government has or going to implement any strong price control mechanism. They dont want that we 'The Janata' should ever come out from the issues of .FOOD CLOTH & SHELTER' so that they can carry big scams behind our back. What a shame to the government who can't arrange for the basic needs of his people. Sixty years ago we started talking about technology, education, poverty, unemployment and infrastructure and 60 years later we end up talking FOOD CLOTH & SHELTER for the common man..

Still haven't understood why petrol costs less than INR 25 per litre in a counties like pakistan and Sri Lanka but sells at 3 times the price here. Look at cooking gas (LPG) the price is always revised upward by INR 50 each budget. The only way as I see it is to root out corruption and then subsidize essential commodities.

Inflation, continued distress of poverty, arresting the number of suicides ( zero tolerance towards poverty and deaths due to starving) and above all bringing to book the corrupt.

As to How He Should Push His Budget When Opposition Stalls Proceedings?

idea posted by PS Dhingra CEO & Vigilance & Transformation Management Consultant, Dhingra Group of Management & Educational Consultants

The main issue would be to think how he should be able to push on his budget speech when opposition stalls the Parliament when their JPC demand in 2G Spectrum is not acceded to in full.

CONTAIN INFLATION & CUT PRICES

idea posted by ATMA RAM CHAVALI MANAGER IT, SBH
The Finance Minister should think of containing the inflation levels and reduce the prices, so that the common man can happily live without much problems. Apart from the income generation, he should also think of brining the prices down to earth immediately

*** THE LIMITS OF GROWTH ***

The  Budget is a Forecaster . The Government  takes the oath of Office in the name of God . Recently , to a parliamentary question , the Government replied that Astrology is the ancient Science ! The Nostradamous Calculus of 22-12-2012 called it the last Day for civilization and the Canadian Foresight of any-time-any-day  Giant Sunami  needs parliamentary attention for a reasonable Budget .

We all know  how problems somtimes crop up that are difficult to solve , either because of lack of time or for technical or other reasons .We all want to do things better and more economically. Just a hint in the right direction will suffice to clear away the problem . The Club of Rome has published a Study by Dennis Meadow calling it the Limits of Growth applying to all growth processes of industrial growth and  long-term development .The growth of consumption ---food , raw materials, environmental exploitation and new storage facilities with successive Budgets draw the conclusion to be unavoidable . Technology to offset the price increases and rising costs  as pointed out by Scientists of widely different origins ,industrials , economists and humanists fully backup the very careful checking of Population with an increasing demand by Government Inspectors. It would be wrong to dismiss the furniture of economic development constituting power plants , railroads and free  government foods apart from economic monuments like non-monetary & uninheritable non-private public facilities for human resources development analysis.

Fiscal deficit

idea posted by Poornima MBA/PGDM student, Alliance Business Academy, Bangalore
The budget should aim to control the fiscal deficit and inflation to bring about stability in the economy. It has to take into account the raising interest rates would pose a threat to the growth and accordingly without affecting growth must reduce inflation. The government could also concentrate on the supply side constraints, subsidies and tax restructuring to further bring about stability in the economy.

idea posted by S. Muralidharan Executive Director, Knowledge Foundation & Campus Around the Corner
Budget preparation exercise was a foregone conclusion! Do you expect the Finance Ministry would be sitting on what they need to present in the budget session which is hardly a week or ten days away! All our wishlists would remain as wishlist and the budget documents, as prepared by the Finance Ministry in consultation with the Planning Commission and other departments, would have gone for print by now! After seeing the folly of their own leaders (every day one scam or the other seems to surface in public domain), its time for the UPA government to provide sops to win over people confidence. Therefore, we expect a balanced budget this session!

Mam, when someone publishes a study or research it means there is fair amount of truth into it. You just cannot brush off the matter saying it is fake. If so then you should resonate.
Thanks Manish btw many here are too old for this :) MR. Murthy the link of your blog :)
As such I am not satisfied by the sides given. But the question that should be raised is that why should there be an increase. They already have enough what more do they want?
