When an organization or its culture suffers from any of the point mentioned above, office becomes miserable place for those straight forward employees & who are not able to handle or manage difficult colleagues/bosses. the other hand..when people give an excuse for failure/work not happened/delay & do not take responsibility of their own action & blame it on either their team mates or directly the company ..it annoys leadership or mgmt too..

Though all factors mentioned here are annoying, i would strongly agree that the red tapism, groupism, favouritism, gossips bothers alot to those who are sincere and dedicated towards their profession.
I agree with Dipti, that most of the organization are facing above mention problems. Organization are making strong rules & policies to monitor & control these issues, but inspite of that this is fact, that still most of the organization are suffering from these wrong objectives. Co-workers do not exchange their ideas. Managers believe in credit taking of their juniors, they are mostly engaged in creating environment, they they can plan how the credit can be taken.
Ppl who show off.. make groups divide the colleagues. These ppl who play politics, and the worst are those who speaks for u on ur face and say something on ur back.

Believe me I have seen all sorts of people in the field of HR, and handling a moody employee is the most difficult thing, if something is given to them either they completely overdo it or they don't do it at all, and times we see them being overjoyed on occassions and at times they are in complete doldrums, and handling such an employee is really difficult and they get emotional on many occassions and always are craving for sympathy from all, and people really get annoyed when such employees are around and we see reasons given many times an employee leaves an organization citing annoying or Moody employees at the workplace. There are also other things like yes slow computer, the office gossips and the list goes on..... |

Thanks for choosing all together a different character in work place that annoys many. The moody people always think that they are right and they know more. They are not only problem to the work place but also to their families. Please try to put them in research and analysis for better result. In my opinion, the sycophants are more dangerous and invisible enemies than any body else.

Those who dont take a decision at their level. 1)a boss who cannot take a decision and 2) a subordinate who comes with a problem and no solutions |

The back never really happens .... Thats what is annoying to me!! It means that the person is not the right person to service you, the organisation has so much faith in letting him handle an important customer as I am and last but not the least the empowerment to close the business ..... Please avoid saying this to anyone ..... Interesting answers here :)) |

For me, it's dealing with the huge egos of people who are very average performers. They would go to any extent to satisfy their egos, be it bashing their team members or arguing on anything and everything under the sun with their colleagues. It wastes time and leaves others drained. |

Micromanagement makes one feel untrustworthy and too-foolish-to-know better. It also makes you clerical and unable to exercise your judgment, develop your management style and wastes time in having to report every little thing. |

The most annoying thing for me would be when problems whose solutions are obvious , remain unresolved for so long. A simple example would be a flickering tubelight. Even though all it needs is a call to the maintenance department , nothing will be done till one day when there is a burnt smell and power to the whole office goes out ! Another big turnoff is the sight of a messy table , papers and paperweights all over the place , a bunch of files in one corner , a spider enjoying its siesta in its hammock ! Believe me , one can make allowances for people ; making allowances for such things is almost like soiling oneself. |

What i mean is if you ask a senior about some work which had to be done and the reply comes ,IT "is in the pipeline " , "you will be notified when it happens ", "will analyse and see ", " can happen or cannot happen " such things do annoy a lot :) |

Talent varies, commitment varies and people definitely are different. I usually can live with all that. What we should all be careful about are people who either dont do what they prescribe or plainly do the right opposite. |

In most of the organisations , it has been seen and experience that we do't understand employee interest and its expertise and we try to convince him to take interest which in our interest ,which always leads to miss use of resources eventually end up with failed or lose of the resources. |

I like youthness to remain cheerful at workplace, but they keep changing their job because of just one issue. That is why one shall grow into the team. |

People who gossip to much about a co-worker. People who have no idea of what they are doing but love to get in your way when you have an idea. Co-workers that do not except change or an new ideas. Like, Old women who have a grudge or is not married yet. Weak managers, Idea killers, co workers that report on me if I don't go alone with their stupid idiotic plan. Got to agree on the mobile tones one. What the hell ever happened to manner mode? With all the above points in mind, Here are some strategies that can help you become less annoyed on the job. Try some of these thoughts, the next time someone or something really gets your goat at work. Staying calm means you don’t do something you regret later. Instead of getting mad at annoying people – feel sorry for them. |

As an academic, what annoys me most is interference in my academic work. Such work requires intellectual freedom and not domination. The point I am making may be relevant to my profession or similar professions and not necessarily to others. |

very well said sir, i agree with ur point completely...n its not only abt ur profession [ educational sector/ faculty/coaching] but also applicable to industry ....even....when someone interferes in my work or rather nebody's work..the flow gets interrupted & then we cannot deliver the desired result @ desired quality @ desired deadline.

when u r efficient and can perform the task with most effective and economically but ur immediate boss does not support you and dominates you in front of others is most onnoying thing i ever felt.. |

The office atmosphere will be lively and bubbling with activities only if the decisions and actions taken by the team or the work force is equally recognised , supported and honoured by the management. Otherwise the moral of the team or the work force will be more of non cooperative and lack of interest in the work done, which will also affect the quality and the quantity of the work done. |

Most of the people think that talking more (nonsensical) gives good impression among colleagues and bosses. This attitude is quite annoying. |

Back bitting is such a tendency which creates a dangerous situation and again back biting found as Child rearing practices of an employee and many times cannot control though we give training on socialization.. |

1.Multiple Interface(vertical)-If a job requires Him/Her to interface with multiple levels of the organization 2.Multiple Interaction(Horizontal)-More a worker interacts with other people on the job,the larger the likelihood of that worker experiencing an other-directed emotion |
