After Ruchika's case blow out, people are coming to terms, though its too late but they have realised that there should be guidelines in the process like how a school should function and what one should follow if something has happened, and now in that regard CBSE is coming up with guidelines to schools, and that too after Ruchika's case was highlighted that she had been expelled in the wake of her Molestation case at that time, after which she committed suicide, and not only this there are many instances like this where students are beaten to death and where teachers are found harrassing students.

As a parent what sort of guidelines you would like to see in Schools?

Let us discuss the larger picture here, please pen down your suggestions......

No to physical punishment

idea posted by Sarika Singh Assistant Professor, BIT

I mean there is a way to handle a situation where student is not behaving properly or done something wrong, and the only way teachers or the school think that it can be sorted is by punishing them or beating them physically, so I totally want this to be abolished in schools where students are beaten to death. So the guidelines which are about to be set, should abolish physical punishment to childrens in schools.

Fear of physical punishment can make the student a well trained student but not a well educated student. And for the development and benefit of socity well educate and not well trained persons are required

when ever beat any one at any level not even school , college & offices and other working areas who give you the right to beat any one on their wrong behaviour

the very great and good punishment for each & every one is to give the same & same work again & again to that particular student untill he give the correct answer

this is the only punishment according to me in any line or any place

by this punishment only each & every person whether a student or a employee can got the time to improve his or her mistake or he/she also realize himself only that he is literally doing mistake in his/her mistake in that particular work

Personality Matters & not Punishment,,

I don't want teachers for my kids who just lay their emphasis on numbers, ranks or gradings. Instead I personally wish teachers, who being professionals can do a SWOT analysis of my children & can concentrate & assist for the strengths at the same time helping them to overcome their failings, rather punishing him/her for his/her weaknesses.

Overall personality development as per an individual should be the approach.

I agree to a large extent to this idea. It is indeed the teachers who get the first glimpse of how and what the child is or could be...

They should advocate these strengths and then manipulate the differences to bring out the best in the child. At the same time I wouldnt take away a little punishment to put that fear in the minds of the young guy / girl so that the focus doesnt shift. Pramks if allowed to go unpunished will take a larger than life picture in the childs mind and will make a permanent home that will be an integral part of the childs growth. That is something that teachers need to judiciously avoid!!

Educate, Motivate teachers and the School Management

idea posted by pruthviraja pande Film maker, Fascinations communications

Dear reader, According to me, more than the students the teachers, the school staff and the management of the schools [both government and private sector] needed to be trained, updated, educate and motivated more to the required standards to meet the challenges of today's students and also of un-ethical environment so that ultimately the students should be empowered.

thank you for referral

Teach law relating to minors

idea posted by RAMANATHA PRABHU N Chartered Accountant

Indian law itself gives complete protection to minors, we need to teach those legal provisions to the people in the suroundings of the minors and the minors too. This is legal side, when it comes to practical we will have to put tight controle over the situations like happend in Ruchika's case, controlling the situation may not always within our controle, so make conrole to the extent possilble, some time certain things are beyound our controle. Display posters and cards containing the rigerous law relating to minors in the surrounding areas where the minors are thickly populated. Furter find out the area where the requirement of law is required to be tightened and impliment such law effectively for better result.

be focused yourselves...

Students are future of this country, yet most difficult to handle at their age. i personally segregate them as those who top, those who pass and those who fail.

i.e "focused", "easy going" and "i don't care" attitude. These attitudes are not wishful by the students but these tendencies are totally natural a god's way of striking a balance in this world.

1.I feel students should be left on themselves for the matter of studies.

On the other hand, Teacher is a sacred person who likes to dominate the class. Regular self check is very necessary for the person who aims to be refined as a teacher.

2.Rather than concentrating on the class behavior of the students, teachers should study hard and be a master of their respective subjects.

as class listens when they are sure you know what you are teaching.
